I disagree. I think her mindset sucks! 1 year to get over an ex! What a joke. 1 day is more like it. Or 3 days at the very most. It's only a relationship! They come and they go. When one goes you get your freedom back. Your freedom (aspects of it) is a huge thing that you sacrifice when you get into a sexual relationship. So the end of a relationship is as much a reason to celebrate as it is to feel down - logically speaking. For sure there's a lot of people with overly negative outlooks - especially in this video. But there's no reason at all why you have to be as negative as most people. It's far better to be happy when you're in a relationship. And happy when you're not. BTW Part of the reason for this generation being messed up emotionally is the higher than ever consumption of junk food and junk drink.

As for healing after a break-up, I've found that the best solution is to engage the logical half of my brain. So that whilst I might be very upset for a day or two, I will keep telling myself that there's nothing to heal, and it's time to start the search for my next sexual partner. Because logically speaking there is nothing to heal after a break-up. There's more to be happy about than to be upset about. Because every day on Earth is a wonderful, miraculous gift. And it's really dumb to get upset over the end of a relationship. because one door closes and another opens. So therefore I totally disagree with you saying "take as long as it takes to heal, even if it's a year". Because that's such a waste of time. And it's taking yourself and your life far too seriously. When you can instead chill out, laugh at your misfortunes and move on with the expectations that good things will happen in the future.
