I wound cut that excess off.. looks to me like the extra fabric wound cause a bunchy look? I may be wrong. Please comment if you agree or disagree.

Professional way is to trim excess fabric, take out topstitching, open hem and press seam toward hem. Turn hem and stitch to completely enclose seam.

Nope … better to cut the excess off or a “ghost” line will appear from the top of excess hem after subsequent washing, drying, and wear.
