Before anyone who doesn’t know what they’re doing attempts this, please understand he left out a lot of crucial information that may make it very difficult or impossible for you to do this. PLEASE READ before you cut holes in your wall. -in order to do this to code and have a wireless look you have to run romex behind the wall and install an outlet. Like he said, you can’t run a regular power cord through the wall. So unless you know how to fish romex and install a new outlet, you won’t be totally wireless or you’ll have to hire an electrician. -sometimes there is extra blocking in the wall that runs horizontally between the two studs, so if you have your pass through outlets above and below that blocking you won’t be able to actually fish the line through, unless you have some more specialized tools. A stud finder should be able to show you if this will be an issue, but just be aware.

Most power cords for things like tv's, game systems, and power strips are rated at a minimum of 75° C = 167F. Most new-ish cords are rated at 90° C = 194° f..... so ya, it's safe in almost every application.... unless you have a damn furnace in the wall the heat is a non issue. But warming people about electrical safety is always good 👍

@@Jiphoune Many homes in the UK built after the 1980s are brick but with a dry wall liner. There is a narrow cap between the brick and dry wall but cross bars would prevent looping through cables like this. I guess it adds insulation and is cheaper than employing a plasterer who can cement over the bricks and then apply plaster smoothly.

Have a question. I am planning to buy a similar ikea besta tv unit(the bottom one) , not sure whether it has slots/holes on back. The only addition is one vertical drawer(4 slots) on both left and right side of the TV unit. My TV would on the besta unit and not on the wall. My power outlet position is to the left and right of the vertical drawer at bottom. I am assuming since both the TV shelf and vertical drawers will be touching the wall for safety, and there will be a screw to attach to the wall. My question is, how will I able to connect a outlet surge protector from the left/right side of vertical drawer to go back to the central tv shelf, if everything is touching the wall? Is it possible to install the ikea besta unit and vertical drawers keeping a certain distance from wall?

So you mention not using power cords behind the wall.. but then proceed to do it anyway? Cause if not, then where is the power cable for both devices???

Because of room layout and acoustics I need to put my TV right in front of a small window. I don't mind putting cardboard to block out the sun completely. I have huge curtains expanding longer than the window itself. I don't want to hang the TV... But I don't think a regular TV stand would work good either do you have any ideas or possibilities options for me with my situation? It's the only place I can put the TV because of the layout in the room in the acoustics.

If you can’t wall mount your tv, a tv stand is really the only other option. That’s what I would probably recommend

I can't quite tell, but it looks like you ran your TV power through the wall. That's against code everywhere I'm aware of. This was a great video for your low voltage cables like HDMI or coax, but should never be done for power.

Lol… And what about the power cables that that run through your the walls of your entire house??? do they ever heat up??? I am surprised by the stupidity of ya’all… For fucks sake stop scaring people because of your idiotic brain… There is ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER in running the power cables through the wall… Provided the insulation of the cable is not damaged of course

Haha, what kind of wall is this? In the Netherlands we only have walls from massive concrete. So that makes it not easier.

magnet can be used. tie one end of the cable with light metal or paper clips or anything that is made of metal. then run the cable thru the outlet. on the other outlet, use a magnet to “attract” the metal part tied to one end of the cable

What did you do for the subwoofer cable? Did you run it down the wall and out all the way to the subwoofer? So the coffee table is the item hidding that cable?

This one is for drywall they are hollow inside. Most likely nothing quite like this works for concrete or brick since they are not. Edit. Actually some brick have holes in them so electrocity can run easier inside. Tho im not sure how easy using those holes would be.
