Very informative video. I’ve bow hunted these mountains most of my life. But it’s still on my bucket list to take a long hike through the Chiricahuas just for the beauty of it. Definitely going to do it soon👍🏼

Sycamore Campground is our favorite place to go camping. The hike to Mormon Spring is about my limit, due to joint problems. I love these mountains.

I have hiked and backed in the Chiricahua mountains for many years. I've been recently exploring the Galuiro Mountains NW of Wilcox, similar geology as Chiricahuas. It is hard to find backpackers in Benson, AZ

I guess bears and other wild animals prevent me from camping, what advice do you have to protect yourself from them while hiking and camping?

You said at 0:55 that there are tremendous rock formations along the crest trail. Any of these look like the formations in the nearby national monument?

Good question. They are not nearly as impressive as those in the NM, but in the context of the forests they are quite beautiful in their own way.
