I'm so happy to hear you're finding this series useful and am hoping to get the next episode out soon....and you've given me that little nudge I've needed to get going. Thank you!

Hi JG! Great video! Big Brushy Creek campground is permanently closed for camping. That area flash floods in a matter of minutes during during heavy rainfall. Take care and god bless.

I'd hoped it would re-open at some point. It's a great stopping point for OT hikers. The dispersed campsites a little further down are a nice option though. Thanks again for your support as always.

Another great video! Let's make a(nother) plan to hike the Womble so you can make that video. I'll try not to break anything between now and then!

Breaking things is no longer allowed!! We'll definitely make a plan to do the Womble and make the video.

If I had to put money on it, I don't think they will ever allow camping at Brushy Creek again. After the disaster at Albert Pike, Forestry is extra cautious about anywhere that can flood. It's a shame because both campgrounds are so nice. I wonder if they are concerned about liability...? Have campers sign a waiver and shut things down if there is a risk of bad weather.

I'm not sure if they will ever re-open it, but the talks about re-opening Albert Pike has me hopeful. Another commenter on this video mentioned that Big Brushy is permanently closed. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds, and I do hope they change their minds, but in a safe manner.
