You can have it actually, or at least something reasonably close. You might not hit it as far (I don't know how big or strong you are) as Hanson is a pretty big dude. But straight is still the premium. I'll bet you can swing like Hanson, provided you work at it.

You nailed it there, Craig. Very nice. All I ever did was block shots for the very reasons you're demonstrating. Right hig too active, spinning out the left hip too soon, not getting that right hand facing down and into the slot, letting the head come forward. This little video is practically a total lesson on how to go from wrong to right! Lol. Thank you.

At least some common sense on youtube! My CHS with driver is just bellow 100mph. So by all rules I must hit up on the ball. But after playing for 7 years I nave still NOT figured out how to get full release hitting up on the ball. I would kinda try and pick up the ball which is end of story really. So, agreed, all personal! Thanx. You've just boosted up my confidence)))

The most important differences between the conventional and the contemporary swing styles are on how they release the club. The traditional swing release the hands and the player have to overcome the residence of left wrist. So they have to back off the wrist and continue to push downward to give the way to the left hand to cockup and roll forward. However, the contemporary swing use the wrist and left the hands totally passive. They keep the hands cocked all the way untill nowhere to go. the power quickly generated by changing the relative position of the wrists，three kinds of powers are applied at the two wrists. The front/back, the upper/lower(left pulled up and right pressed down）, the extension of both to outside of the left leg. Theoretically，the body skeleton should be looked as barrier for swing. Only the barriers are cleared then the motion of arms joints could be extended. However, every joint also has a helper at their relative position of the body. For shoulder joint, the clavicle and the movable sternum (chest bone?) are the barriers. For elbow, the lower ribs and the pelvis top are the barriers. For wrists, the upper leg and lower pelvis are the barriers. For the hands, the thighs are the barriers. For example, if we make (how) the bellybutton left, the right side belly muscles will converge and the left side would diverge, hence will drive the elbows as we want. The clavicles, the groin line also have the same effect to the shoulders and wrists if we manage to move forward the center line of the front side!

I have been hitting the ball as the club head starts up. I will try, as you suggest, to hit the ball at the bottom of the arc. Perhaps I can get longer off the tee. I nteresting and informative. Thanx ... jt

Tiger, I think, hits one down or level, not really up. Also, doesn't hitting up 4 or 5 require one to have a faster swing speed? A slower speed doesn't produce much hitting up benefit. Great video.

When you move your head back it gets you too underneath leads to fat shots and block slices if you over do the hip thrust so just be carefull you don't over-do it ..

We have 60 million players a s 40 million with no lateral movement and no separation I mentioned lateral movement off the hip with the right leg staying back. I talked about how to do the drill. You have used terminology like “ hip thrust” I have filmed over 35,000 swings in 4 different countries people are so far off fron not only doing but doing it all Thanks for posting Alan I think the video showed enough clips and detail for people to get a very good idea on how it should look - once they reach that point if they ever do they will be ok

Hi Brandt the lateral movement is Definitely the same with the hip leading the lateral movement of the late hip moves between four and 8 inches from the top of the swing into impact in the initial part of the downswing the head move slightly forwards and will back up ever so slightly ...but not we pronounced as we are hitting down and the shaft plane is steeper This is shown is extremely detailed iron series on worldclassgolf.com And in the lag and compression series
