I've just got into clay pigeon shooting and by far these are the clearest, easiest and most helpful videos I've seen yet, thank you!

Totally agree. Love the graphics, and the small box with the shotcam view - extremely helpful so see what Simon does as he picks it up at the hold point and continues on to break the bird.

Snap lol. I've come back to shooting after 11 years away.. I've gone from 75% kill rate. To 20% kill... its so annoying

We need to know how much lead

Depends on speed and arc.

@@kitesurfer314 yes but their has to be a rough idea of distance. Otherwise how does a instructor teach
@kitesurfer3144 жыл бұрын
Andrew Lambert I get what you’re saying but most instructors don’t give amounts. Look at Ben Hustwaith’s videos. He never says how much of a lead. He wants the student to figure it out. Have fun. I’m shooting a round tomorrow and can’t wait.

@@kitesurfer314 Unfortunately it's set to rain, so I'm giving it a rest this week.. well I don't want to get my baby wet lol.. but yeah.. I love shooting. The ground I go to only opens 2 hours every Sunday, so it's all bit of a rush.. perhaps that's part of the problem,,

1.50: you close one eye when you shoot????
@simonarbuckle41234 жыл бұрын
I shoot both eyes open the majority of the time but I have found that if I'm tired and shooting long right to left targets my left eye can take over and pull the gun too far ahead.

@@simonarbuckle4123 thanks, I didn’t even think about. Need to check it too )

Looks like Simon shoots with one eye open. Surprised to see an instructor do this.

I used to shoot squinting/partially closing my left eye but know use a piece of tape on my glasses which I think is a little better some people just have to because of eye dominance probs whatever works I say👍 great vids
@pauljames61875 жыл бұрын
I close my left eye, im right dominant but my left is strong too..or I end up with almost double vision.. better to close one eye than to walk around with tape on my glasses or pretending I'm a pirate 😁
@simonarbuckle41234 жыл бұрын
Good spot Mark. I am right eye dominant and shoot both eyes open the majority of the time. However I have found occasionally and it's only on long right to left targets, when I pull ahead my left eye takes over and I overlead the clay. This usually occurs when I'm tired hence why I either squint or close the left eye.
@jontargett6924 Жыл бұрын
a lot of shooters squint or close an eye for some or all shots, a good instructor will accomodate this, look up Ed Soloman, he's done a great clip on this
@mbal4052 Жыл бұрын
Sometimes my scores would suggest I’ve closed both eyes 👀 😅
