How To Hit Your Fairway Woods

This video was requested by a friend to needs help hitting his woods off the fairway. In fact, every golfer in his weekly league cannot hit a wood off the turf. I used to be that way many years ago. And it really was a confidence issue and a mindset of how the fairway wood club works. Most golfers look at a fairway wood and think they should sweep it off the turf. In fact, because the ball is not sitting on a tee, to get the ball successfully into the air, the golfer has to hit it with a descending blow. Almost similar to a long iron shot. There are several ways to accomplish this. And this video shows you how.

Good morning Tony. Entering my third year in the sport. I hated my three wood and became more proficient with my five wood. But, after nearly two years; I gave up the five wood, and replaced it with a Callaway Super Hybrid (adjustable to a 2H (17*-19*)) to back up the big dog.

Thanks Tony I have a 7 wood and a 5 wood , the 5 wood is an old Ping I3 like my irons but my 7 wood is a newer Callaway Mavrik I also have used a 9 wood for awhile and that hit nice as well But forget the three wood I just can't hit a 3 wood , Thanks .

At 70 I've replaced my long irons with a couple of hybrids and a 5 wood, also have a 13 degree strong 3 wood, which I can hit both from the fairway and tee
