If you just got a new, or new to you, pop up camper, make sure you watch this pop up camper maintenance guide before you take it out for the first time: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX-tdKd4epilmdk

I just brought home a 2007 viking 1906. Looks like the owner kept it very well. When we arrived home my husband noticed that 1 wheel was cracked/slightly slanted inward toward the camper. We're not sure how this happened but we're holding off till we are able to see what's actually wrong with the wheel

I would NOT wrap my power in the chains. Also I’ve been driving a truck for a living for four years now, also been towing boats, car trailers and pretty much everything else under the sun for 28 years.

I recommend you get a anti sway hitch. I had to get one for mine to make it less sway on it.you can get them normally for 30 bucks.

If your pop up has brakes, and you have a brake controller, applying a little brake stops sway as well

Hello, your videos are very good, very interesting. I have a question. If before traveling, I need to put more things in the Pop up camper, such as an extra refrigerator or other things, is it advisable to put them as far forward as possible or at the back? thank you so much

More weight in front of the axle is better

So you don't need a distribution weight if you just going to tow les than 5 th pounds?

How do you unhitch this type of hitch????
@vjmeht4 жыл бұрын
Learned the hard way to not over tighten the tow chain by twisting had a situation where trailer was backed at a certain angle on hill where the chain was too tight and couldn’t uncouple without breaking chain. Since Used bungee cord to keep chains from dragging in case things get tangled can always remove or loosen the bungee if needed to slack the chains.

Don't wrap your chains are your 7 pin. If you have too much slack in your cable, give it a wrap around something like your tongue jack. Don't interfere with your chains.

My crank to bring back down wont move anymore and my vehicle is still attach and I cant remove it. What can I do?
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
I’m a little confused on what you’re asking. Your tongue jack wont move and your coupler won’t detach from your hitch ball?
@tinalaframboise32493 жыл бұрын
FYI emergecy brake cables should not be attached to hitch, but somewhere else on bumber like your licencse plate with '0' ring. If your hitch pulls off vehicle the emergency brakes will fail to engage. As its still attached to the hitch.

I love your channel. Just watch to see what we learned wrong or things we didn’t already know. Love the way you did the e brake cable! Thanks for that tip. Have ours threaded through the chains. While that will work if the chains break free...your way allows the brake to be deployed after it comes loose from the ball but before the chains break...ideally anyway. Seems worthy to at least give it a chance to do that in case of emergency! A couple of tips I offer. First, I used to move the truck forward and back slightly to get the ball to drop into the latch. Someone recommended that you regularly, once a year, use wd40 inside the camper latch/mount. Almost never have to move the vehicle anymore by doing that. Second tip...we have multiple trailers, so regularly have to adjust the height of our ball. We got an adjustable height mount for I want to say $35 or so. Called MaxxHaul 70067 8-Position Adjustable Ball Mount - 5000 lbs. Easy and fast adjustment...and a lot easier than trying to find the right height receiver. Cheers...I hope these times help you or someone else as much as your channel has helped us already. Cheers🍻

I don’t understand what to do if I have a ride or drop?

One great thing you did was cranked the handle all the way to the top. A friend didnt do that and when he went over a speed bump in the parking lot it hit the speedbump and bent it right back..

Do you have any issues or concerns about sway with using a fairly small TV with a larger popup? We just got a similar size popup towing with a Chevy Traverse AWD and I'm debating about adding a sway bar before we get out on the road. Thanks!
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
Certainly wouldn't hurt to get. They also make weight distribution hitches with sway bars as well if you’re concerned about rear-end squat. Preventing sway is also about loading your pop up correctly with more weight towards the tongue of the camper.
@firefighter21013 жыл бұрын
@@ItsPoppin Thanks for the tip...do you have a sway bar and/or WDH on your setup? I've briefly looked into the WDH and it seems like overkill for a pop-up, but what do I know.

Hitch is upside down!?
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
In a sense - lol - but you can absolutely do this. It's oriented this way because our tow vehicle hitch is lower than the pop up receiver with the pop up being level. We need that rise to keep it level when we're traveling.
@carnage31084 жыл бұрын
It's Poppin' - Pop Up Camping I understand but that tow hitch is not made for that. What you need is a height adjustable hitch. Anyways you have very good videos! I learned a lot from you and your videos on what to buy and what not to buy
@KRT0454 жыл бұрын
@@carnage3108 the hitch will specifically tell you the drop and rise numbers. If not it is not advised to use in a rise position, then don't otherwise it is perfectly safe and acceptable to use in either orientation.

I always lock the receiver to the ball and then crank back up to verify its in and latched on first
