The exercise of using the fingers to push the feet away from the wall has been instrumental for me to start _creating_ balance rather than just _searching_ for it, and I'm suddenly making much more progress with my handstand! Great stuff :)

This is amazing, I've been able to get up nice and slowly but unable to hold. This helps a lot! :)

Great tutorial!!! Is that only fingers are using the power but not the palm?

Thank you for the great content! I’m able balance towards the fingers, but am having trouble feeling helpless when I get overbalanced towards the palms, any tips for rebalancing from palms?

Interesting stuff. No chest to wall though ? That is the best exeecise for alignment (back to wall promotes a bad posture, no hollow body)

Great video guys! I find that practicing handstand on low parallettes is much easier but when i move from parallettes (warm up) to hand balancing it seems easier. One question I have is where should the eyes focus when in handstand? Forward of hands or behind?

It's a random question Which excercise is harder to learn in Calisthenic Handstand or muscleups???
@melfarus4 жыл бұрын
Just judging by the number of people in the gym doing the former or the latter - definitely handstand is harder (I can't do either yet 😏)
@SchoolofCalisthenics4 жыл бұрын
@@melfarus they are two very different movement... the fine motor control of a handstand takes time to develop. If you're starting with good strength a muscle can be much quicker but depends on strength abckground.

I can't seem to move away from the wall when I grip the floor. I'm squeezing as hard as I can and I'm not feeling and shifting
@flashgordon65103 жыл бұрын
I find I can get off the wall, but then my legs fall right back to the floor. I can only hold it for a second or two. I think I'm going to try more chest-to-wall, as shown in the video.

@@flashgordon6510 i straighten up my body and I find it easier now. I'm still trying to find balance as oppose to creating Balance

Great vid! Quick question, how long would you say it takes to learn a handstand push-up after learning handstand holds, given that you have the strength to do one (just not the balance)?
@SchoolofCalisthenics4 жыл бұрын
hey mate... totally depends on soooooo many factors... some poeple weeks, some poeple months... others years... but there's no rush - or at least there shouldn't be - we have our whole lives!!!! That said, we do recommend the frog to handstand as a step before handstand push ups as its effectively half a handstand push up when you drive out but you get the added bonus on control you hips and legs in both a tucked and straight shape - giving you more movement options and a wider skill base of control - that make sense? Jacko Have you seen our Frog to Handstand programme? - classroom.schoolofcalisthenics.com/course?courseid=frog-to-handstand
