I bought mine at Ollie's (Good Stuff Cheap) for $16.99. That was with a 15% discount. Hooked it up to my laptop because the new ones do not have a disc port. Thanks for the video setup. I set it up on my own, but I feel more confident having someone confirm that I did it correctly. (EDIT: Well. It didn't work. First of all, the box was labelled OTIC. There was an OTIC sticker on the back of the player. The remote had an imprint of "Onn," and the instructions were for an Onn product. Batteries that were already in the remote did not work. That should have been my first clue that this was either a store return or a refurbished product. I switched the batteries to fresh brand-named ones without success. I couldn't even get power by pressing the button on the player. So back to Ollie's for a refund. Still, thanks for the video!)

Pro-tip for anyone who has a Sony Blu-ray without a remote. Their Blu-ray remotes aren't tied to specific models, so you can buy any Sony Blu-ray remote and it will work with any of their players. A better option than wasting the money on Walmart's Onn junk that'll maybe last a year or two before breaking.

I have one. Looking at the box, it mentions a/v composite in. So, i grab both my gamecube and wii to see i can use the dvd to connect to an smart tv. I have no clue how to switch from dvd mode to a/v

I had the same problem. I used a better HDMI cord and had no problems after that. Still planning to return it though because the cord that it came with should work.

The dvd player is probably outputing 480p. Probably the tv can't accept that resolution. On the remote, press the setup button. Then go to top middle. On the HDMI output option. Select the resolution your tv supports

Anyone know how to hack this dvd player to be region free? It's not a bad dvd player, just make sure that you seat your dvds correctly before closing the tray. Can 'catch' dvds
