As an architect I’m learning so much from this channel. Now I can revise plumbing specifications with more confidence. Thank you.

I too noticed that it would have been a good idea to first flush the hot and cold water out from the new washer shut off station before attaching the washing machine hoses, to get rid of any debris.

My copper tubing bented when I was trying to take off the stubborn water hose for the washer. I don't have equipment for soldering so I had to go hunt down a new water on and off handle and the threaded copper tubing that goes to it and on the other end compression that just goes down and fastens on copper tubing, just in case u don't know that they make those. Easy as 1.2.3 to install. Thanks for the video.

Untreated lumber against concrete in a notoriously damp location. Richard, Richard, Richard tsk tsk tsk... Well, you are a plumber. I love the valve sequence. More valves to turn than in a submarine.

Washing machine is on the right, dryer on left. Usually, it's the other way around so the washing machine opens towards the dryer.

It was just a comment, because it's such an obvious mistake in this "instructional" video. For you to take the time just to reply to it means you are humorless and without a life.
@terpanther6 жыл бұрын
I think I watched this video because I was flipping a house and needed to put a new drain line in for a washing machine and I was looking for instructional videos about it. This one was a joke because it talks about hooking up a washing machine and they hook it up without drainage. Many people commented on it. Apparently, you are trolling and popping off your mouth from behind a screen. Go play outside (or whatever you do) and stay off videos where people are actually doing work.

There was already a drain line there. All the did was add new water lines for a newer washing machine...

With the use of an Oatey laundry box, If I were to lower the box so the top of the drain pipe is 28”, could I put the p-trap below the floor? I have a crawl space below the floor. Front load washer.

Germany have 230V, and had 220 until the late 1980s. It was 240V in the UK, officially they've got 230V now. In the US there's a system called "split-phase". You've got two line conductors L1 and L2, which are actually only a single phase, you don't have a phase deviation like it's the case in a three-phase system, both have a voltage of 120V against neutral (N) or ground (PE). But if you measure the voltage of L1 against L2 you've got 240V. Dryers for laundry are connected to 240V in the US. Just use a second higher voltage for appliances with a high demand, just as it's the case in Germany were three-phase supply is common even in residentials (3x230/400V) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einphasen-Dreileiternetz

I still dont understand these valves that you turn off when not using your washer. It has to be an east coast thing as I grew up in Illinois and have lived in AZ now 30+ years and have never once seen one of these.

I have one that doesn't work. You can have it if you want.
@flat-earther2 жыл бұрын
Why is it useless
@tcapone17342 жыл бұрын
@@flat-earther Because new washers use very little water. Water is what cleans. A physical liquid must move through the fibers in large amounts so as to remove bacteria and dirt. Basic physics. Unless it is dry cleaning that also uses a liquid. Having damp cloths sitting on top of a dinner plate that sparkles and rotates as it bumps the clothes around does not cut it. Common sense. Clothing must be submerged under water and agitated for proper cleaning. Ask people why their clothes stink after washing them in their HE machines or why their machines grow mold and mildew. Then they have to buy fragrant "beads" to add to the wash. Another expense to mask the odors of dirty cloths after washing. Use your brains and think. I don't need to explain anymore. This reduce water consumption is just another fable by the mighty ones. The earth is mostly water. Water never disappears. Don't even get me started on the big lie of oil which is the second most abundant liquid on this planet next to water. People are gullible sheep. Get dumber and dumber as the decades roll on. It's sad.
