You have to renew Domain and hosting every year Renew time depends on your packages Example :- you bought Domain and hosting from Hostinger That i too use. I bought both for 1 year , though the domain came free with the hosting+ it was custom domain. So i have to renew it in December as i bought it in January. If I bought the package for 10 years i would pay after 10 years

I use FreeNom but its free domains are unavailable for a couple of months, and if I am not wrong, you are out of luck because almost all free domain providers like FreeNom are unable to provide free domains, only paid domains are available with them at the moment.
