Some people may not have the goal of building a full fledged website or learning web design, just hosting a small project for fun.

For static websites, you can use firebase hosting owned by Google or github pages owned by Microsoft. You don't have to rely on third party app.

It won`t be customers DATA involved, there is NOT database (such word press or other type of platforms that require SQL, at least) this is only for static website (made on HTML) and NOT logging registration required. I would not do that, i prefer to use XAMMP instead and make my own security.

So if you have private info like passwords, family pictures etc they can view them or even download and delete them from your google drive. So you need to change host every year or pay a bit extra. Like €3,- p/m. But it's not a VPS but shared hosting. Good enough for I think all static websites.

@@garrysohi5623 you can try github pages. It can serve static pages and i believe react and other js frameworks with client side rendering. But it cannot have a database or run server side scripts and definently no Django or WP. For that you really have to pay like €5,- euro's per month. Might be worthwhile if you invest time to build an app. But if you have an react app that fetches data from an external source. Well it could work.

it does seem that way but what I think really happens, because I saw it in the html file after I inspected it, is that google adds some analytics coding into it or I'm not sure if that was becase I used chrome to inspect the code. Anyways, so it might not hack you but it probably will spy on your website.

In a way it is telemetry, Google can then use the data it gathers from your site and compare it to others then provides it to other people who pay for Gsuite, this way the company who pays for the added info can use it to improve their businesses by seeing what works and what doesn't. On the plus site it does allow Some business to access your web traffic, and by doing so said business may request to put ads on your site in exchange for monetization. But hey that's just a theory, A Web Theory. Thanks for reading.

It's free for a year and it was easy to make the website have SSL certificattion and be secure and give me https and removed the need for the subdomain www, all at the same time.
