I saw a good question in here. This here also gives you the gist to setting up your port forwarding too, which is a necessary step. So make sure your site works good on your localhost, then right click and put "online" your WAMP server, then change your index.php in your root folder (c:/www/wamp/) to your website -- that's where your mysite.com is going to point to. But first you have to change your DNS Zone File to your public IP address. So, mysite.com, looks up your ip address on the DNS Zone File, which you set to your public IP and you set your root index.php to be your site's home page.

Im having issues maybe you can help. I have wamp setup like jn your video. I have port 80 forwarded in my router to my server. I have my dnh A host pointing to my public IP. If I ping my .net from an outside I will get my IP so I know the A host is right. I have an ftp server that I can connect to on the same IP and domain. However my webserver cannot be reached. Port 80 will probably not work since it is blocked by the ISPs for residential accounts. In the Apache configuration, use a different port like 81.

I am trying to access my WAMP server from other computers on my local area network, and I can access the Apache Web Server remotely, so i can access Web Pages, but I can not access the PHPMYADMIN remotely i keep getting "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin on this server. Apache/2.4.9 (Win64) PHP/5.5.12 Server at 192.168.0.200 Port 80" I can access PHPMYADMIN on the machine locally, i just can't access PHPMYADMIN remotely although again I can access the Apache Web Server remotely ... I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the problem is, i have all of my firewalls disabled... I am running WAMP server on a 64 bit windows 7 Professional Operating System... yes this is possbile, if your site is only going to be seen internally you have to configure your DNS server to point to correct name for IP 198.123.112.89. If you have DNS up and running on your network you should have an entry of 198.123.112.89 assigned to the name of the server. you can create a, i believe an A host record to point to let say tawanda.hello and assigned the IP address. when a user inside your network only types in the tawanda.hello they will get direct to your site, but make sure you change your virtual host to have your name shown up on the address. it's crazy. i might to do a video on this topic for you guys. hope this make some sense.

if you click on your WAMP icon on the taskbar next to the time, you will get a menu and one of the option is "www directory" this is where you will drop your files, but make sure you create your virtual host to point your site.

Moshikashitenai I know it's old, but worth stating here for public. I do recall what you are describing, "Order Deny, Allow". It is in fact "Require all denied". Mine currently is, "Required all denied" and my site is up and running just fine on my WAMP server. I would read on consequences of "require all granted" and when/why you would do that. Come back and let the public know what you did and how you resolved it. Good luck.

Hey mate, been trying for a while to get this to work but for some reason i get access denied. After i forwarded port 80 i went to the Open Port site to check if it's open, which it is. then i type in my external address in the browser and woops access denied, tried it with my phone and my friend tried too. I think it might have something to do with order Allow, Deny since i'm running the newest version of wamp i didnt have the same files as you had so i just added the order Allow, deny and the rest of the lines which you had. Any clue on how to solve this? Also, would you mind explaining how i can use my purchased domain instead of my external ip? Note: I will be using more than one domain, so it would be great to know how i can let the project folder got to the right domain, not localhost (i think)

if you want to make your home pc a webserver. you have to purchase a domain name service such GoDaddy.com. Purchase your domain name and the your public IP address of your webserver will be assigned to the purchased domain name. Meaning, when some type it blah.com in the background it is pointing your public IP address which is your home server. Again, your machine will be on 24/7 and make sure to have a tight firewall security system when doing this.
