💚🖤 I am so glad you explained how to cut each panel and where everything went, I never would have figured it out. I love extra swishy so this is definitely on my list. Just need a large amount of the right fabric :)

Aw I just remembered: I have a fair amount of turquiose cobra corsage viscose in my stash!!! What an idea to make a double circle skirt out of it! ❤❤❤

Yay - a practical / instructional video. I’ve missed these. Skirt looks great. Doubt I’ll make one as it’s not my style but I have picked up some helpful tips here about labelling and colour-coded pins. Thank you ❤

im so exited you showed how to do it with pannels I'm already +size and where my skirts empire and end up with a lotof bulk in the waste band and over my bumps with just gathering/ pleasing

Beautiful. This kind with multiple panels is to reduce the bulk gathering at the waist? Def worth all the patterning.

This is one glorious skirt! 😍 But I'm clearly a lazy drafter because I would totally just do one or two pattern pieces to use for the whole skirt. It takes more keeping track of the pieces, for sure, but I'm lazy and stingy with my pattern paper. 🤣❤

You have now given me a reason to have multi coloured pins 😂 that's a fantastic tip!

Can I gather the waist

Only a year late! I've made a double circle out of sateen and it's very floofy. Have to wear 2 petticoats with it though.

I'm not too familiar with making and cutting out patterns. So, i need to ask this question - Can this pattern be made using only one piece of fabic instead of having to cut and sew so many pieces together ? If so, how would I do that ? Thank you for answering if you can. 😻

BTW, I'd like to make such a "flowing" skirt with an elastic waistband on it. 😉
@KittenishBehaviourSian11 ай бұрын
You can do it with less panels, it would depend on the length you want the skirt to be and how much fabric you have. To make the waistband elasticated you need the waist measurement to be big enough to be able to either pull over your shoulders or hips. :)

@@KittenishBehaviourSian Thank you for responding. Will try to make it soon.

love the look of the double circle skirt! Also your brows are looking very Audrey Hepburn here - darker than usual?

Hi, why not just make to full circles and join them? Edit: but yes if you want to manage the grainline as lime and if the fabric width is nit enough then maybe this much work would be good.

Thank you for the drafting tutorial! I just woke up so my brain might not be working properly but isn't this really just two pattern pieces? The centre front cut on the fold, and then the second wedge used 14 times?
@KittenishBehaviourSian Жыл бұрын
If you divide them up perfectly equally then yes totally 😊 my pattern pieces were not all 100 % equal though! I can also imagine that marking the notches to be unique for each section on the one pattern piece that gets cut out 7 (14) times would melt my brain 🤣 .....although if they were all identical then you wouldn't need to notch because the order you sewed them in wouldn't matter! My brain definitely hurts now 🤣

@@KittenishBehaviourSian I think I need to draft along with the video to really understand the geometry. A lot of people seem to be visual learners but I actually have to do the thing to learn the thing. And I'll probably need more coffee. 😂

I was definitely being slapdash when I made my real size pattern and all the pieces are differently sized so I replicated that in miniature. You are totally right though 2 pieces will do it if you are accurate with the measuring and spacing when you draft :)

Fab!!! Think it might work well in the lightweight viscose/linen blend I made my birthday dress in; moves well. Also would make a fab evening dress as a full length skirt in a solid colour fabric (so can be more efficient with cutting).
