I read that slip solution isn't a good idea. Apparently, it wettins the brush & causes your polygel to not cure as it should. I was more thinking rubbing alcohol 91%. I want to do them but don't want to waste anything.

It is not that simple for beginners. The shaping & filing is a long process. I've done a full set all by myself and it took me 3 days of 8hrs each day n the nails still looked like s**t. I did a refill just a couple days ago and it 8hours.lol. working with the non dominant hand is real PAIN IN THE A**! I can't wait til I get better.

Right!! I just tried tonight for my 3rd time(but first full set, I only did my thumbs the first 2 times haha) I only managed to get 4 fingers done before it got too late😂. Now I have to go to work with only 4 done, and not all the way done either. I haven't painted them or anything yet and only kinda shaped them! It takes so long! I'm scared to see how my opposite hand goes!

@WhatHappened2CommonSense Did u use the nail forms for the polygel? For me, that cut down alot of the filing time. And I do my non-dominant hand 1st to gt it out of the way. I've been doing my own nails since the beginning of the pandemic and I've only gotten a lil bit better

I ran out of my slip and hunted my house for something else I could, so I decided I'd try some hand sanitizer and it kinda worked! It was 70% Alcohol so that'll be why. So in an emergency you can definitely give this a go! 😂❤

It’s only this simple if you don’t have puffy side walls and nail beds that don’t run to the tip of the finger.

This method only works if your natural nail extends in front of your finger(like hers). Because with nubby nails like mine that bead at the end just squishes against your skin and the brush wont be able to flatten it into the mold. Instead paint the polygel inside of the mold at the correct thickness and it will work(make sure to thin it out at the cuticle so it doesnt squish out) I really wish i had long natural nails because this seems like a lot less work lol. But yeah, all those tutorials out there dont mention that and it can really frustrate you if youre a beginner. You also need a nail drill to remove it because it is STRONG and you cant just soak it off. (There are toxic chemicals that will deteriorate polygel but they are extremely bad for you). So yeah file only and maybe acetone on that last teeny layer. Its a pain but with proper dehydrator, primer, and base coat it will adhere to your nail like gorilla glue. Hope this helps someone who wants to save money. I had a hell of a time learning how to do it with my nubby ass nails & thats why i wrote all that. 😂

Well technically you can do either way but I highly recommended putting the gel on the form first then applying to the nail, and after the nail is on, it’s good to make sure that the back is even. So both ways are very similar

I tried this way last night. The results I got were: AWFUL! Here's why... The Polygel kit is Morovan from Amazon back in 2021. I believe last night was my 6th or 7th time using it. & here's my opinion & advice for those who are always beginning users, like myself! The colors in my kit were 3 solids, 3 glitter colors, & 1 clear. Now w/ me, I'm never going to attempt using non-solid colors again. When I used my solid colors I was getting a hang of it. Hardly messy & sticky. So last night I used my clear bottle. & OMFG!!! It was a disaster! Sticky, messy, & hrs & hrs trying to do all 10... I should've remembered. Cause back when I tried the glitter bottles I had the same issues but somewhat better results. I wish I could add an image to this to show u.. Fuzzys keep sticking to them.. Ugh... So I say to u all, if ur polygel is older & very stringy & impossible, toss the bottle & don't waste ur time trying...
