Would love to see more from this series!!! I’m a 24yo woman who also doesn’t come from a hunting family but really want to learn and source more of my own food from it... I’ve taken hunters ed for my license already, but I don’t have much clue on how to pick gear, how to be successful in the hunt, what to do before/after the kill, or how to find mentorship since most learn from their family. SC, where I live, doesn’t have much in the way of hunting clinics and isn’t offering any. Would love any advice and to see this series continue from another woman who seems to have a similar background! Thanks for what you do!

Excellent video Allie!! 2 things. Hunter Safety certifications are valid in other states if one decides they want to hunt another state. Also, I highly recommend having a good mentor. I know most of us get interested because of a dad, family member or significant other (like you and Nick), but if someone is interested and don't have anyone, you'd be surprised how many state agencies can put someone in touch with a new hunter. Colorado does a fantastic job in that area and actually have a KZbin series just for this.

My now ex boyfriend and I broke up a few days ago and he was the person who really got me interested in hunting and fishing. It’s something I’ve really learned to love and I was so excited for this hunting season to start. We had all these plans for the upcoming seasons and I was really looking forward to it but now I’m not sure what to do or how to start learning for myself... I understand that I’ll most likely miss this years season but would like to get the foundations down for the 2021 season so I can kick ass and go out on my own soon. I never really grew up around people that hunt or really even fished so I don’t really have anyone that can give me advice either. I don’t have a lot of gear as I relied on him for most of the stuff so it’s all just feeling very overwhelming at this point and I find that KZbin videos arent geared at all towards beginners or really women in general... So thank you for creating this video and thank you for all the future videos to come... I’m really looking forward to this series. You’ve given me hope that maybe I can navigate this new adventure on my own ❤️

@timberg73774 жыл бұрын
Look at PSE or MISSION bows
@Sonicguy954 жыл бұрын
Make a budget. Find someone that knows their archery. Or find a nice archery shop with staff that care and aren’t looking for the next sale. And go try bows regardless of their make. Mission, PSE, Diamond, Bear, don’t know if Hoyt and Elite have budget bows. Probably some other names out there, trad bowhunter now. Which is a completely different rabbit hole to go down if interested. What someone might like in a bow: you may hate.

*Listen to this beautiful lady, she speaks the truth. As a 20 year avid turkey hunting veteran, and an avid bass fisherman, I can attest that one thing you have to develop is patience, and it isn't something that you are not going to just acquire overnight. It takes time and studying the quarry that you are after and understanding their patterns, likes and habits. If you're new and want to pick up hunting, I recommend studying and getting a hunting license to start and then study what you are going to go after first and foremost, then take hunters safety courses and get certified. Experience is the best teacher when it comes to attaining patience and understanding being in the outdoors and hunting. Don't go into thinking you're going to have all the answers, because you won't. Nature has a way of throwing you humble pie, and it don't taste very good, but you will learn from it. Above all, if you're going to hunt, or fish, remember this: STAY COMMITTED. This isn't something you can just throw on the back burner and think it's always going to be there. Like anything, this requires practice, and commitment. If you'll apply these to your regiment, then you're taking huge step in becoming an avid outdoorsman, and believe me when I say, there's nothing better than getting to wake up in the mornings and take in all of God's glories and reaping the harvest.*
