Would give anything to get drawn for a pronghorn hunt! Also, on the Hunter Safety course, try to take it in person if you can. You’ll get more out of it. I am exempt from the requirement because of my birthday but I have still taken it THREE times (first when I was 12 and then twice more with each kid). The course is excellent.

@ABetterOutdoors great video for newbies. I'm lifetime hunt/fishing gut and #3 on hunter education when they started this program. Those who complain about public hunting land in Texas(yes can be tough), but still WAY cheaper than leases with NO guarantees you will have that lease next year(all expenses someone would put in that lease to make it seems better +cost of lease...do math). Wish I could show pictures of deer I got from public lands. Get further in , stay away from easy spots and other hunters. Successful
