How to Hunter (Wotlk LvLing) - Getting Started

(Beginner Guide)

Brang here, showing you folks that are interested in making a hunter toon, a nice guide on how NOT to huntard. I figured, a good way to eliminate some of the huntard problem would be by teaching the new hunters how to be a hunter =P
I was gonna use a NE, but I'm pretty sure you guys are sick of me and NEs so I went with Orc. No I did not reroll horde or reactived my account. The other volumes won't be out for a very long time.

MACROS (I made these macros for the sake of the video people, make them the way YOU want it)
Shoots Arcane Shot. With shift it summons pet if it's away, otherwise it mends pet.
/cast [nomod] Arcane Shot(Rank 2)
/cast [mod:shift,nopet] Call Pet; Mend Pet
Shoots Conc Shot. Rezzes pet if it's dead, otherwise it dismisses him.
/cast [nomod] Concussive Shot
/cast [mod:shift,nopet] Revive Pet; [target=pet, dead] Revive Pet; Dismiss Pet
/cast Raptor Strike(Rank 3)
/cast Mongoose Bite(Rank 1)
/cast [nomod] Hunter's Mark(Rank 1)
/cast [mod:shift] Scare Beast(Rank 1)
Blood Fury. With shift it switches from AtoH to AotM and vice versa.
/cast [nomod] Blood Fury(Racial)
/castsequence [mod:shift] Aspect of the Hawk(Rank 2), Aspect of the Monkey
/cast [nomod] Track Humanoids
/cast [mod:shift] Track Beasts
If you want to use it with a cast focus, you need to type
/cast [nomod,target=focus]
If you want to use it with castsequence or with a reset timer, you need to type
/castsequence [nomod] reset=X

This video was the reason I got so much love able threatening whispers from lvl 1’s. (Obvi a made goon taking their anger out on me because they got roflsniped in bg’s n world pvp) Brang taught me how to strafe! What pets to pick! How to do it all! N people thought I was a god just from doing the basics. I know I’ve said it in many other videos. But I haven’t had this much fun playing a WoW in YEARS! RiP troll hunter.. Tatsuhema. pretty good guide, i didnt really learn anything but i have a ton of alts at 70, my hunter used to be my main in TBC and i have 3 80's, so i should be ashamed if i did hehe. i can imagine this being alot of help, and good tip on the names, its jsut rediculous what some ppl choose. other then that i think ill sub to see the other parts as they come by.

The use is getting some free enchants and nice stuff like rocket boots + parachute cloak in PvP etc. Just split the ores to lvling engi, and sell the spare mats, which you will have pretty soon. And stop trolling. :) Awesome vids btw Brang. Just started to pvp again as MM, after a long time of just PvEing. Really like it and seen a lot of useful stuff in your video's :) Defintely going to make a PvP offspec. :)

@hallelujah59 what you want to do to that macro is make it a cast sequence like this #showtooltip /castsequence Aspect of the Hawk, Aspect of the Cheetah this wi automaticly switch your aspect and the icon will change so you can see what your doing.

There's no need to bind Q and E for abilities and make A and D strafe keys, it's in fact totally uneccesarry. I get your idea, to unlock more binds that way, but there's so many keybinding combinations you would (like me) manage VERY WELL without it. Apart of that, very good beginner tips! :)

@Procop08 Go to the interface in the game menu. Go to the camera options. From there there will br an option to make the camera stay where it is while you are moving. Hope this helped. :)

i find binding strafe buttons to A and D more efficient. Also wolf is a very good lvling pet due to furius howl. reason 1 is at low lvls pets gets a little amount of ap from us being a ferocity pet+more ap from fh makes it hold aggro better while doing nearly same dps as me .2 furius howl makes a little aoe threat to pull aggro from mobs which you didnt hit. ps wolf was able to tank 4-5 mobs in howling fjord while i was misdirect/volleying them feign death when required.

Lol aspect of the viper is great, I use it between fights in dungeons to regain all my mana , I don't even have to drink. And also while lvling as a bm hunter your pet takes all damage so you don't have to stop to eat and mana you get back from asp of the viper so if you lvl in a good way you'll never run out of resources.

Its probably because of the 2 set bonus: Increased damage of your Serpent Sting by 10%. Increasing the dmg of Serpent Sting your CS dmg output is increased aswell. I am pretty sure that he uses Glyph of Serpent Sting aswell since this increases the total dmg of the sting and therefore increases the CS aswell.

i actually liked the way hunters where right now. raiding wise you shouldn't be able to go oom if you got some decent classes in ur grp. and for pvp i usually just go aspect of the viper in between fights

@sergioalonzo17 Maybe your gear is not up to running MM yet. At lower gear levels, from the time you hit 80 until you get, at the least, a 226 level weapon SV will work better for you. Even then, download the hunter spreadsheet and eat, sleep and breathe it. You will then have the tools you need to know when you will benefit from running a different build.

When you send your pet in it gets the first hit with thunderstomp anyway, and i always keep my pet in my focus, hence i'm dpsing whatever he is, so I never pull aggro. By the time you have dropped 2 mobs just AoE and you wont pull anything. If in doubt lay a freeze trap as you send ur pet in to root any mobs that do break free. Multi-shot is a big waste of mana anyway and Volley is far more efficient at taking multiple mobs down in my opinion.

Personally, I keep q and e as strafe keys and I bind other junk to a, s, and d. I find it keeps binds easier to reach. (Easier to curl finger sup than stretch them out), but that's just my cool story, bro.

I say leveling BM is going to turn alot of people into huntards, i leveled surv till mid 60s then swaped over to MM, and stay there till 80 when i swaped back to surv cos my weapon kinda sucks too much to be MM =P, but ya crab+marks from outland is a good way to practice being a good hunter.

I had MM so I changed to BM thinking that I make too much dmg with normal shots...but the situation is the same...Making quests is a nightmare! I`m gonna catch a crab and try rooting mobs and kill them with skills....Changing back to MM.
