Brilliant video and commentary that covered all the questions I would have asked! Thank you ever so much!

Your presentation Thank you. İf we would like to define a nonlineer spring which works only X direction, what should we write in the command line? So, the spring should not give any effect force in the Y and Z direction.

How to set the spring to be pulled or compressed from the beginning ? I'm doing a simulation. Two objects apart are connected by a spring with a stiffness of 150N/mm. An object is fixed, an object is pulled out by a distance of 80mm. Calculate the spring reaction in 03 cases of the initial length of the spring between 2 objects: Springs at natural length, the spring is compressed by a distance of 20mm and the spring is pulled about 20mm.

What does the distance between adjacent spring Combin 39 elements actually mean which is used in force displacement equation?

Sir, How to model a COMBIN 39 between SOLID 65 and LINK 180 nodes using ANSYS APDL..I came to know from few researchers that Re bar node should be taken at small finite distance from Concrete node to make COMBIN 39 Non Linear spring to work..How should i take Re bar at small distnace to Concrete node in APDL??

Please help me! Does exist an opportunity to use nonlinear damping effects in this element? Are there other opportunities to introduct nonlinear damping diagram in a model?

How to use nonlinear springs with "only compression" behavior???
@muratislamceng4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to define the Force/Deflection values from compression to tension as you like. So when you go to tension values, set two tension values to zero newton to flatline the curve... This would generate compression only reaction forces that you wanted.

@@muratislamceng sir..do we have to use negative values for force for compression spring
@okanakzm3 жыл бұрын
from tools>options>appereance click beta options, then you can change spring behaviour to ''compression only''

Hi there! Can anyone help me, I'm not getting the connection option in the outline. I need to attach a spring, but I don't know how. I'm doing the stress analysis of a rocker and i need a spring for this to be done. please reply to the comment if you can offer help Thank you!

the moment you open the Mechanical module from the workbench, right click "Model" from the outline options, then you will find the "Connections" option. Click on it, and then you can use it to insert Spring, bearing or beam, or any contact tool.
