Damn, what is this the only video on the internet that explains how to actually export the tempo map? It's from 2014, but it still works and it's the only fix I could find. Thank you so much man!

I learned that Logic will import the tempo map for WAV files now, so that is super hype. This is also a good loophole workaround as well. Great video!

Have tried importing into an existing project and it does not work. its fine when midi file opened but not there when imported into another project part way through. any help really appreciated. thanks
@dantarbuck5 жыл бұрын
You may be able to import tempo information from another project via File>Import>Logic Projects>Select the project with the tempo info you want to import & click Import>Find "Tempo Track" in the menu which appears on the right hand side (probably near the top of the list) and tick the box in the "content" column, then click "Replace" at the bottom. I've not tried this myself but it works when importing other items/instruments so it may be worth a try! Hope that helps

I found the solution: Go into the track with the tempo you want. Open the "List Editors" (button in top right) Go to the Tempo tab (top of the List Editors window) Select all the listed tempos (click the top one, hold shift, and then click the last one at the bottom) In the top of the List Editors window there is an Edit drop down menu, click it. Click Copy. Close this project and open the existing project you want the tempo to change. Open the List Editors window Click the Tempo tab Select any of the tempos listed here (you will be overwriting them) Go to the Edit drop down in the List Editors window Click Paste It could take a few seconds to a minute... but it should all be there as you copied from the first project.

Still helpful 10 years later, although you can use melodyne in reaper to make the tempo map, convert audio to MIDI, export the midi file, then open it in reaper

Can you export Time signature like this as well please?
@AndreasvanHaren7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, this is really helpful. I noticed that also the markers are being exported/imported which is great. Is there also a way to export/import a time signature map? In a course I am following now they use DP and talk about exporting the tempo/Time Signature track. Not sure how this can be done in Logic.

Hey does this also work for a time signature map and groupings of a metronome ? Wanting to make a time signature map and then import into Pro Tools
@NickFromNetherlands5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. To import in Ableton 10 you must stretch the note to the end of the clip

Thank you for sharing, very helpful. Do you know if it works for time signature and markers/Arrangement markers? I have a recording session next week but they only have pro tools. I would love to be able to import the complete "song structure" and not waste time explaining all the tempo and time signature to the engineer :)

when i import certain audio files to logic, ones that have tempo info, the pitch of the audio shifts & i can't change it back to normal. somebody please help

will this work for a session thats already recorded ?
@mansouraoun8 жыл бұрын
If you want to do that, open the two sessions, select the tempo points you want to copy, copy them and then paste them in the other session, make sure to click on the tempo track before pasting

+Stryker Studios @Stryker Studios When I follow this exact process and import the MIDI file into a new project, the tempo information is not imported. My tempo track is still at 120 bpm, so no tempo changes were "captured" for lack of a better term. Could use some help, thanks!

i think i said you need to open the midi file, rather than import into a new project. does that work?

Thanks for the video. There is one heck of an easier way though: Simply File->Import->Other and then choose the project file that contains the tempo map you want. The media browser will open up and show you all the tracks in the selected project and allow you to import tracks, tempo and much more with just a few clicks.
@datamasked6239 жыл бұрын
John Goodwin That only applies if it's a Logic project though. If you want to take a tempo or time signature out of Logic and send it to, say, Pro Tools this is preferred. As you may or may not know, Avid are money-grubbing assholes who make you pay (a lot) extra for their "HD" software to get many features that every other DAW come with standard. But yeah, if it is Logic-to-Logic, your way is way easier.

I've noticed that when I export an audio file, either a mix, or a stem or anything really, the tempo changes are all saved into the .wav file as standard, so if I import that .wav into a new Logic project they are all there. Very helpful when a project gets too super huge and I want to track a few more bits over a simple mixdown instead ... HOWEVER ... I can't get them to carry over into Reaper, so I am using the method described in this video and first exporting a midi file. Since .wav is a universal format I had expected Reaper would be able to read the tempo change metadata just the same as Logic, but I guess not.
@rosshoyt20306 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, yea I think that attaching tempo maps to .wav exports is more of a niche feature, though it seems available in Pro Tools I believe, which is probably why Reaper doesn't default to importing a tempo map from a .wav file.
