If the programs doesn't automatically find Blender for you and you do have it installed, click the little + and instead of doing what I did, go to C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 4.2 (change Blender 4.2 to your blender version). This is most likely where you'll find your blender.exe file. If it's not there, you have installed Blender on another drive or in a specific folder.

Nice! Is it possible to have a tutorial for cleaning mesh for 3D printing on Blender? I use Fortnite Porting too but the meshes bug sometimes and I don't know how to correct the errors 😭 With the surface subdivision my mesh is holey too

Ouhh yeah that’s a spicy one! I’ll put it on the list. The main things you’d need to do is convert Tris to Quads (edit mode > select everything > face > triangles to quads), select everything again, press M > Merge by Distance > Mark as Sharp (in the little dropdown box left bottom corner), locate the areas where there as supposed to be sharp edges, mark those edges with edge crease/ sharpness (shift + e > slide mouse), and see if it works with the subdivision modifier. There will be some broken loops/ quads, but you can fix those by selecting 2 vertices and pressing J to make a bridge and selecting the wrong edge and pressing control + x. It’s a little difficult to explain in words but the first part of this explanation should help a lot already.

I understand that, I felt like that when I first started. Maybe I’m a little too used to joining discord servers and clicking random links at this point haha. You can try joining the discord and look around for a bit, there’s no possible way for you to get a virus or anything doing that. It’s highly unlikely that people will try to even talk to you in there, let alone scam you. And if they still do, just ignore them. Scammers, people with mischievous intentions and even people who promote (irrelevant) stuff get banned or kicked. If you’re unsure you can trust me you can look through my channel. Scammers typically don’t share tutorials on how to make stuff in blender (without urging them to click on links) and then show them the results through short cinematics and trailers. Of course you’re right to feel that way though, it’s the safest way to browse the internet. There is no “official” method supported by Fortnite/ Epic Games to import Fortnite models into Blender, so downloading external programs is your only option, but you can always try UEFN to figure out your options there. Even if the film making options are currently more limited.

highlight all the bones while in pose mode then press "alt+g" it resets bones to the default spacing so it should fix any deformation. also alt+r will straight up reset the whole pose, hope this fixed it (click on the bones before swaping to pose mode so it lets you edit them) also if you ever need help in blender there is a subreddit for it "r/blenderhelp" the people in there are really helpful :D

I typically don't answer these because the answer is too long and would be annoying to follow in text. You'll need a video for that. On top of that I get this question multiple times per week for a different skin every time, and with me having a job I just can't make all of them. Questions like these are better asked in the Discord server, but it's unlikely that you get a response there either.

Sadly there isn't (yet), you'll have to manually switch off the IK constraint on the hand. I spoke with FortnitePorting's creator and they told me it wasn't possible to add with code.

whenever i import a model, everything is fine but the textures on it are really blurry and low quality. Ive tried all the LOD settings in the export menu, but nothing changed. I have high res textures turned on, as well as pre-download stream assets. Nothing is changing and the textures still suck ass. do you know how to fix this?

I totally understand what you mean (I think). Nowadays yes, but in the beginning I only used some very basic constraints (IK bones) and that was it. I hated the cluttered and overwhelming feeling of all of those controls and not knowing what did what exactly. Eventually I just learned to rig on my own and it all went away. I actually kind of encourage you to start super basic and maybe learn to rig yourself, makes things a lot easier. The rig IK Tasty included with FortnitePorting isn’t great for animation, so knowing how to work your way around bones is super nice.

If the textures are blurry you should go into the Epic Games launcher, into the Library, locate Fortnite, click the three dots, click “Options” and make sure everything under “Fortnite Installation Options” is checked. Especially High Resolution Textures and Pre-download Streamed Assets. Then re-import your model.
