This was a an awesome lesson I learned so much new things especially how to relocate the bishop in more then one move. Somehow I don't see things like that naturally. These lessons rock thank you so much for putting all your energy in it, it really shows. Two thumbs up.

I was looking for such middle games lessons and I found this is the best on all youtube. Awesome effort.

This is good, the improvement of the position is often something my opponents don't know they even need to do, instead they just look for tactical things that aren't there, like that black cat in a dark room. After the opening they don't know how to follow up by doing the sorts of things you discuss here. Thanks!

thank you so much for all the valuable content...i have a question that might be stupid :) in your last example improving the position of the bishop you replaced it with the queen to keep defending the pawn..while that will eventually improve the bishop but didn’t we weakened the queen’s position?

Maybe put it on d2 instead of e3. On the original square it actually wasn't good either

Awesome video, I found this channel a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite chess channel. As far as I know, no one else is doing this, and its highly valuable, a big thank you for sharing. I couldn't find the middlegame video that you mentioned on what to do and how to continue when the pieces are already on optimal squares, is it out yet?

i found the clip very instructive. it made me think about my own chess habits. it got me thinking about where the line is between deploying a piece to protect a pawn and trying to move that piece with more attacking intent. the question is...should i aim to make my position solid (where everything is defended) or do i need to think about re-routing that piece so it is more active ? should i be trying to land a telling blow early on, or should i be aiming to make my position so solid that the opponent hangs himself by making mistakes? i would love to watch a clip that is all about the above. i seem to win more games when i play cautiously, but i would like to be able to play with more dynamism. trouble is, when i do try go toe to toe with the enemy, i often get caught out by not being able to forsee the consequences of moving a piece that was either defending or blocking another piece. its like the game is an ever shifting kaleidescope, where, with every move made, the balance is altered anew. there's too much to keep track of !
@luisp.3788 Жыл бұрын
If it helps, those are two different playing styles. Some only attack when needed, trying to dissolve to some kind of endgame. Others attack instantly, trying to vigorously exploit every weakness. You just have to find what works for you. Although, at the highest level, I've heard that aggressive play doesn't work reliably. But it's a spectrum, and I suppose there are further subdivisions and sometimes it switches during a game.

Wait:) Patience is key in chess. This is something I struggle with a lot. Be prepared to wait and slowly improve until an opportunity arises.
