Saw them play live. They're not are a good pair but Lauren isn't strong enough in my opinion.

"You don't actually generate power by a long swing you generate power with squeezing the grip on the point of impact" I disagree with this to an extent. Its true that gripping hard will generate good power, but a big swing most definitely generate a lot of power.

You didn't understand. You are looking at 2:51 and she's referring to how to do that particular particular exercise of hitting the shuttle against a wall like she is which helps for defense. And for that exercise, you get power without using a big swing. One can defend with more of a swing, though it's usually not necessary, and in that exercise, she is showing getting power without a big swing. So for that entire exercise, the power doesn't come from big swings and you aren't doing big swings, and it's about getting used to getting power without a big swing. Of course she wasn't saying that big swings don't generate power, 'cos if that were the case nobody would do them. She's just describing point 4, to squeeze fingers and get power that way. Points 1-3 are also for that exercise, and may or may not apply outside of that exercise, but wouldn't apply for all circumstances.
