Im now in the 11th grade in the isc curriculum so I didn’t have to take history this year. Though, up until last year in the tenth grade, when the curriculum was still under icse I had to memorise dates for my board exams. ISC and icse are Indian board certificates.

I’d like to add, as someone who has gotten a 5 in human geo, AP world, and APUSH, a huge amount of doing well in history is being good at educated guests. You’re not going to remember every specific detail about every person and event, but if you know vaguely what was going on around a certain time, you can pretty accurately figure out the answer to a lot of questions

small tip:history gets easier once you treat it as a novel and understand it event after event connecting events in history is really important and during class you should make a small timeline and write a brief description in those notes its really easy to study history if you study it event after event and remembering dates gets easier

By putting dates in chronological order on a timeline and looking at the bigger picture, I find it easier to remember dates in general, including my own past life. My higschool math teacher told my class that forgetting pieces of info is normal. The important thing to know where to find where that piece of info from. A system to order info helps process info faster, like a library.
