Thanks Liz for your videos, it has helped at lot. Recently I gave computer based IETLS exam for the first time, and scored overall band 8. Listening - 9 Reading - 8.5 Speaking 7.5 and Writing 7 .. but not very happy with the speaking and writiing as I need to achieve 8 over there for my requirements. But it was very satisfactory results given the facts that lot of negative info. about how hard IELTS is and examiner may be biased etc. so hopefully next month I should achieve a band 8 in all four sections.

It's a promising result and you certainly should aim for band 8. With speaking, make sure you are showcasing the full range of your English in a natural way. Did you offer a second conditional statement? Did you offer comparisons, descriptions, future forms etc? Think about how to incorporate that language into your answers and into your part 2 talk. Part 2 is a time for you to plan what language to offer that you haven't already given. For writing, make sure your aim is to nail the issue or issues in the essay question. Make sure your ideas are very focused and well explained. Always aim for accurate language - don't aim to impress. Band 8 = most sentences are error free. Good luck!!
