The sound effects of the 'unconfident putt' are SPOT ON. 🤣

I like the "down the pole, up/at the pole" advice. I usually have an internal saying that I'm thinking about when I'm putting. Stance, Grip, Line, Rip where I make sure I'm standing the way I want, and holding the disc correctly, then visualizing what I'm going to do, then doing it. The visualization step is a really good time to think of whatever mnemonics are needed to get things right before the putt. 🙂

I've been watching a lot of your videos lately since the Armory challenge in DFW. I'm not doing to well. I play well just get some tournament nerves and need to learn to let a bad hole go. Love the tips and they have been helping improve my game. Keep the videos coming they are honestly some of the most information I've come across.

Thanks man, it's been fun seeing you and the crew on a regular basis. Tournament nerves are real... I still fight that battle hard haha

Great video. I recommend investing ~$150 on a basket for your backyard so you can practice whenever and however long you want and not have to drive home afterwards because you're already there. Practice practice practice everyday after work or whenever is convenient for you. Also always practice putt for several minutes before every round you play. If it's just a practice round or fun round with your friends (not a tournament or leagues) and no one is behind you, take a few putts on every hole before you move on to the next hole.

Yeah, practice baskets are awesome, especially if you have 2... having to "prove your putt" from C1 (make it twice) is something that has done a good job of adding pressure to casual rounds

Philos apple pie thing is very similar to when I pitch in baseball. Each syllables is designed to go with your timing of you mechanics. I use “load and go” for my putting.

Great video, i've never actually heard of the spray paint the pole, or any of that! that alone i think will help me be more consistent! I've been playing for 3 years now and id say i'm a pretty good putter, but these are all good tips to remember and focus on for beginners and advanced players.

this slipped through the cracks on my YT notifications, but I hope it's helped your game! Seems like I have to try a different "trick" every couple of weeks/months to kickstart my putting when I get into a slump

Glad it was helpful! For me the mental aspect of putting is the biggest factor on whether they're going in or not

This is great stuff thanks for the insights. For me, I struggle with the straddle/squared up putt because my arm swinging from the side of my body is tough for me to mentally keep straight. When I stagger stance, I can better line up my shoulder, arm, driving foot, and aiming eyeball. Even though I am a little sideways it puts things in line for me. Thanks again!!
@ArmoryDiscGolf
@ArmoryDiscGolf 2 жыл бұрын
I can see that. I think of keeping the disc in line, rather than my arm, but like I said I recognize that most people stagger it instead (and honestly I would like to switch but am just more consistent straddling)

@@ArmoryDiscGolfif it ain't broke... and if I wasn't more specific, spray painting the pole is definitely helping me out! All stances aside 😉

This is a great video to simplify putting but how do I add more power to putting is it just doing a bunch of reps?
@ArmoryDiscGolf
@ArmoryDiscGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Great question- there are a lot of ways to improve power in your putt. Having proper timing and energy transfer is perhaps the biggest factor, but that's hard to explain without putting up a wall of text. Having a firm grip is necessary and will help transfer energy from your hand to the disc, pushing up/out with your legs, and spinning the disc more (so it holds longer before fading) are all good ways to add power

I have many thoughts on that, I actually recorded some more points but felt like I was getting into "clinic" mode instead of having a "quick tips" video. I'll cover C2 stuff soon, but the SUPER condensed version is essentially: learn to step/jump putt and keep everything else the same as your C1 putt (out to 40-50 feet, wherever is comfortable for you), learn when to "hard" run a putt (flat like a C1 putt) and when to just hyzer it in with a "soft" run (again depends on individual skill and comfortability). Full vid should be out in the next couple of weeks!
