Brian is my go-to pool learning channel. I love that you don't show fancy banks, kicks, etc. Just actual pool game scenarios without the fluff. Thanks as always!

Brian, you give the best advice for lessons. This is exactly what I've been working to improve on lately. My teammates always try to say i need to improve my safeties (well yes) but a lot comes down to my shot selection. I can't wait to get to the pool hall for more practice. 🎉🎱

It's better to see the shot(s) than the ability to make it because the inability tells us what we need to work on. Possibility thought process. JMO. AWESOME video.

while you and I find this layout trivial. As a league player I know pretty well what shots spook players and that 1 if they end up cutting it they will miss more times than they make it because that is the second most scratched shot. 1,5,7,3,6,2,8 while the 2 is against the rail you have a 1/4 of the table to get a easy leave. If you can draw off the one would make the pattern that much easier.

Shot selection is not the issue with many higher intermediate players. The main problem that prevents us from running out is execution. That can be either missing a ball from improper fundamentals or focus or simply missing targets after making a ball which puts us out of position for our next shot. Getting out of position is so easy to do and it's not always easy to get back into position or even make a shot when that occurs.

Teaching how to think, and not what to think, facing problems early, seems like a good way to think of life, in general. Do you have any tips for someone with arthritis? My hands aren't nearly as handy as they once were. My dominant hand is the worse of the two, but it doesn't hinder me. My bridge hand is messing me up. Cheers, Brian
@FXBilliards2 күн бұрын
Not sure what to do about arthritis. But you may want to experiment with different types of bridge hands

I’ve been taking your advice (taking care of problem balls as early as possible) in these scenarios. Seems like 75% of the time I break a cluster early in the rack (usually after breaking), I get snookered or scratch.

Pattern play makes all of the difference

To me the 2 is the easiest ball on the table because it so easily goes into a pocket. Idk when I have ball-in-hand, I always take out balls that are right in the middle of the table first. Balls that are near pockets are not problem balls for me because they have a huge section of the table where you can land the cue ball for

3 rails over just just coming off the 14 into the cluster?
