Rob - this is the best one yet you have done... thank you so much for all the suggestions on what 'not to do' it's a work of art to get it sorted out.

Please do more on use of your seat to regulate the gaits. With it, more on development of self carriage and correct contact. More on half halts to improve the horse.

every video is 100% helpful! With your videos I improved connection and transitions. With flying changes video I improved our late behind that we do one way clear!! and one way bit late front!! (horse changes from the leg with your suggestions). Please make a video about half passes - how to improve crossing and any other issues related))
@trousseau_ideal4873 жыл бұрын
Your video about contact the first and only one told in a simplest way. I have seen a lot of them with a "veil of mistification, complexity" and other trash stuff. Even a lot of trainers in my country teach it too complicated. So a huge thank you to you and all your work.

hey, I have a few video topic ideas for you - unless you have already done them and I have not seen it :P 1. how you/your trainers start (break in) your young horses (on ground training to the first rides) 2. tack room tour? 3. what are your favourite products/brands that you use - could be saddles, mane conditioner, traveling boots etc... 4. what does a "day off" away from the stables look like for you guys? 5. hoof care (like the videos you did on the dentist) 6. saddle fitting (like bit fitting - it's a real skill!) 7. have you ever done jumping or x-country - that would be fun :P...and maybe scary! Just some ides I know I would be interested in seeing from you - maybe other people too :)

You have a lovely seat and quiet hands and your horse has a most beautiful walk and expressive trot but it is hard for me to watch as I find that you are riding your horse so very much behind the vertical and broken at the 3rd vertebrae. I am not trying to be rude but simply mentioning what I 've noticed as a rider and trainer with 30+yrs (this is becoming more and more common in dressage and in other disciplines as others believe this is the correct way of going). Perhaps allowing the horse to come up into the hand/bridle would allow more freedom and lift in the back thus creating more engagement from behind. Cheers.
@Begijnhoeve_official3 жыл бұрын
We know with this horse the connection can be better and sometimes gets behind the vertical. Dont think we are not training to improve this part though

@@Begijnhoeve_official Thanks for the response. I think what a lot of people don't understand when they haven't ridden particularly strong, big, upper level movers or horses such as yours, is that it's a fine balance between keeping them together, being able to tap into that amazing power but without having them 'explode'. It's a fine balance between the hand, leg and seat aids and tension can easily build-up so I can appreciate that (vs. purposely asking for that head frame). I just wish more of us were aware and educated as to how riding so restrictively in the front can hamper that beautiful energy from flowing through from the hind (and I've been guilty in the past myself of feeling overwhelmed by such power!:D I didn't have the seat yet to sit such movement back in my late teens but I was stubborn so I was holding the movement back. As a more experienced rider in my 30s, I can see it now and it's something that takes a lifetime of work to master I believe, to not get in the horse's way). Thank you for being aware of your horse's needs, it takes knowledge, experience and humbleness to acknowledge this and thank you for putting out these videos so others can learn from your expertise and when you make corrections as this is how we learn. No ride is perfect which is why dressage is so much fun. It is my hope that we can move forward with instructing the newer generations of dressage riders and trainers (as well as judges) about this and to notice when a horse can truly come through the back. I am still in awe of your horse's natural paces! I think once he can truly find himself to relax in the double bridle, that hind-end in the pirouettes and especially the piaffes & passages will truly be astounding! Keep up the beautiful work. Ps. I keep laughing to myself how it can be exhausting trying to get enough bending/flexion out of most warmbloods but then some other breeds are like 'pretezels' and getting straightness is the exhausting part!🙃
