I am very happy with this way of instruction. I love it that there is no speaking. I find explanations too lengthy. I just want to hear, see and play. Very good method for me.

Great lesson. The guitar is an ES 137 Custom. I have one in cherry sunburst and chrome. Very nice box.

the bdim7 (b, d , f, ab) arpeggio has the same notes as g7b9 without the root g.

Hi achim, what is G HM5 scale? Never heard about that before Is that some kind of harmonic minor modes? Thank you
@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar2 жыл бұрын
It's the 5th mode of a Harmonic Minor scale, it's also called Phrygian Dominant.

@@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar oh I know about phrygian dominant from music theory books It's just I don't know how to use it properly Thanks for the tutorials

Hello. Thank you for posting these lessons. Just to clarify for myself; I'm thinking that the reason there is no 'part 7 - improvising over the 1m7' is that it is the same process as part 1, and the reason there is no 'part 8- putting it all together' is that it is the same process as 'part 4'. Is that right?
@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar6 жыл бұрын
You could see it so, but to say the truth I will do the part 7 + 8 in the next year. Unfortunately there is not enough time to make all the lessons and videos I wanna do. Nowadays there is much more interest in lessons over a complete tune, but the basic stuff should continue, thanks for remembering . . .

Thanks for getting back to me. This 'nuts and bolts' instruction is really valuable, I look forward to the rest and, hopefully more in the future.

Something Wrong,not the harmonic minor sacral,it was melodic minor scale.
@AchimKohl-JazzGuitar5 жыл бұрын
No it's correct, in a minor chord progression the dominant 7th chord Is always from the harmonic minor scale, but you can also play the melodic minor scale ( G altered) or the diminished half tone - whole tone scale over the dominant 7th chord. There is a lot more freedom in jazz improvisation than the most of you know. All the best for your playing!
