This game actually made me hate Sekai more than school days did, her relationship with Setsuna is All give (Setsuna) and All Take (Sekai). She isn’t even actually sick, she just wants to dump her work on someone else so she can won’t be bothered when she goes off to have fun. She even knows that Setsuna likes Makoto and so bribes her to take the job with the chance to see him which would be cool of Sekai if she didn’t tell Setsuna to stop liking Makoto because she likes him now in School Days and Sekai hopes Setsuna will cheer her on, how does Sekai have fans? She’s dreadful! Anyway, rant over and I’m glad that you put out another vid about this series, I haven’t played it in a while so I’m glad to at least hear about some endings I couldn’t get

First- this franchise is quite the endeavor to dive into and I salute you and your tenacity 🫡 Second- wow, this was such a nostalgia bomb for me. I discovered the School Days franchise long ago, when it wasn't appropriate for me to do so (seriously parents- monitor your kid's internet time.) After a while, the mess of connections between every female character and Makoto feels like such a (enjoyable) clown show, it puts so many other VN harems to shame. Love your work man!

Is it just me or does it seem like Setsuna is the only daughter of Shun who knows he's her father? I like to interpret Setsuna's attitude towards Sekai in School Days as her essentially trying to be Sekai's dad out of guilt for getting slightly Paternal attention from him. I find it odd that Kokoro's routes are treated as the most morally cursed when Karen and the Twins appears to me to be even younger.

Karen is just one year younger than Otome, but the twintails make her look younger, and the twins are around the same age as Karen, the thing is that they are all very short when compared to Makoto, who is also very short as well, but all of them are a few years younger than him

So I actually looked this up on the wiki and since Otome is in the same grade as the other main characters AFAIK, and they are all first year in high school (15/16), we can assume Karen is a third year in middle school (14/15). The twins are supposedly also in middle school, perhaps even in the same grade ? (No official age is listed for characters who don't appear in the anime.) Which is fine, I presume, though I agree they look very young. Meanwhile, Kokoro is... 11. Yeah. 😬 Big Yikes.

Yeah, I now understand why they make anime characters have super distinguished colourful hair, because when too many have the same hair colour, they all look the same, especially since they only three major visual distinguishing features of anime characters are usually skin tone, hair color, and eye colour.... and since these characters all have the same skin tone and hair tone, its hard to distinguish between them visually, besides their names, and eye colour, besides those two,l features, it'd be impossible to distinguish between them all.

I've watched this video way more times than I expected too, there's just something enthralling about hearing you go through this twisted dumpster fire of a plot. Between this and your previous School Days video I absolutely adore listening to you talk about this series. One thing, am I the only one who finds it strange that the choices you make are for Makoto but the majority of the scenes take place from the girls' perspective, especially Setsuna? It feels a bit weird to spend all that time with Setsuna's waitress story arc then suddenly change course to a different girl with just one or two choices. I know Makoto's pretty dull but even other blank slate VN protagonists are actually involved in the majority of the plot. Is the original School Days VN like this as well?

Hi Lexa, I like your Shiny Days review, especially for Paris for Two ending route. I usually replay Setsuna's route a lot so I remember how the plot goes. But I just wanna point out one detail, at 2:02:20, the line "I forgot to mention it" was said by Makoto, not Setsuna. Setsuna, considering how she ignored the question when Kotonoha asked her, she indeed never intended to tell Kotonoha about it. It's not a communication issue if she never wants to tell Kotonoha.

A lot of the scenes that were blacked out for you have not been for me on my recent playing of the game, in fact I haven't really gotten any of that. One specific example is when Makoto and Itaru talk about their Father at Radish. Speaking of that, all the stuff about Itaru hating living with her Dad takes on a whole new meaning when you fully know what he is like. Even if you think you already know what I'm referring to you probably don't, it gets so much worse. I'm really fascinated by how the MILF routes are written, to many I'm sire they're the most absurd parts of the game but I honestly find both Youko and Mai pretty fascinating characters in their own right even without what I know about their roles in other games. Speaking of which remember how Youko playfully refers to herself as "Big Sister".......
