Thank you. It's cool seeing high level guys demonstrate old school techniques like this. So many great te waza can't be used in competition anymore, but that doesn't mean we should stop doing them in randori and local tournaments

Your KZbin channel is the best, but most underrated, channel I've found on Judo. I practice BJJ, and your content has helped me to learn a lot about throws and takedowns. All the best to you and your sons!

May I ask, can you step outside and still be effective with the technique as opposed to inside? Pros and cons? Thank you!
@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931 Жыл бұрын
Definitely, but I prefer inside which prevents Uke from defensively hooking my leg with his in order to not get picked up

Is this allowed in judo tournaments? (becasue of the stupid new rules)...or is there a way to make it work with the new rules?...maybe graping the pelvis instead of the leg?
@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can’t grab below the belt. It’s possible to grab around the belt line but it’s much more difficult

@@nickyonezuka-cranfordjkc4931 if I enter my arm between the legs from behind so my hand grabs the belt at the front and my elbow stays at the groin (I mean a big hook) it would be legal?
