Thanks for sharing Joey. Currently at twice/weekly (max effort/dynamic) but definitely interested in adding 3rd day or additional volume.

Only once a week, between overhead press and benching once a week I can keep my tricep tendonitis in check. If I even add moderately heavy weights to accessorie lift it'll keep me up at night, let alone adding extra days.

Always nice to have a coach's advice so I put it here if you've got time to read. Coming from upper chest (incline bp) strength phase so I'm trying to build upon it. basically 3 days a week with my weak point work on the strength day for OHP and another on for volume. I go slightly higher reps and I don't really use RPE but I will maybe lower the weight if I don't feel it that day Day 1 :bench press pyra+3*3 close grip bench 3*3 incline Bench 4*8 slow skulls 3*3 Day 2:OHP pyra+ 3*3 pin bench press 5*3 shoulders press 3*10 Day 3 :bench press 3*12 @ 60% incline bench press 3*12 @ 60% incline db press 3*12 @ 60% pec dec 3*12 @ 60% dips 3*12 @ 60%

Yeah man these are all good points...I will add one plateau buster I’ve used do this no more than three sessions in a row....get a trusted spotter have him after your normal bench workout session help you do three12 sec negative only bench reps with 15-20% over your max...yes he will have to lift it for you and make sure he knows to help you lock it back out before trying to rack it over your face on that final rep ...If recovery is on point I have seen this bust a many plateaus

Sorry if this is a little "off-topic" but do you agree that Weightlifters (Oly) should NOT bench-press, and that it can actually be a "negative" thing for weightlifting? They spend so much time "overhead" pressing / jerking / snatching maybe it's not even necessary for them? What's YOUR opinion (and justification either way) on that? And when you were doing weightlifting did you bench regularly?

how much accessory/ assistance work are u supposed to do with rpe? I'm just wondering because ive been doing brian alsruhe's linear program for 2 years and I am capped out and can't make any more progress. So now I am going to start rpe for the first time I am one of those guys who likes to destroy my body with shrugs, squat jumps, pulls downs, rows ect. I am guessing I am going to have to scale back on the conditioning since I'm going to squat/bench 3x a week?

Thank you for this! I will try it. Currently I do two days bench, first day straight bench press and then do dumbbell presses and their variations. Second day is supplement bench press variations and again, more dumbbell press variations. I just broke through a plateau, although it was small (still pleased but so far to go!). So I will try this program for a bit. 😃 What do you think of Bench Blokz? I bought one because it’s an inexpensive fun thing 😂.

Benching 3 times a week has never worked for me (only regression) but my recovery tends to be on the lower end. I’ve had great success with the following layout: Week 1 Day 1: Flat bench 1 set x 8-15 reps (trying to add a rep each time Overhead press/bodyweight dips/accessory work 2-3 sets Week 1 Day 2: Overhead press 3 sets (not pushing too hard as priority is benching) Incline bench 2 sets x 7-10 reps (moderate effort, RPE 7) Week 2 Day 1: Incline 1x5, add weight 1x5, add weight for top set 1x5-12 (the 2 sets of 5 should be ramping warm up sets of 5) Accessory work as before Week 2 Day 2: Same as week 1 Day 2 Repeat
