Hi, sorry we missed this comment, just catching it now! Without the CTA, you're focusing more on getting an engagement vs getting someone to click elsewhere. You could add the CTA but it'll open via a browser which isn't a great experience. You can run ads on carousel posts, just not with the engagement ad objective. Try Traffic, that should work. - C

The problem I think with this audience and narrowing down is that not everybody updates their lives on social media....e.g I'm married with a child under two which is not on my social media page. So If someone is advertising children toys I won't see it. So how do you target those people who don't put their lives on social media?

Fair points. For targeting, you'd have to go broader and run with assumptions. For example, you'd have to assume a 38 year old woman in x regions with x interests would have a child. It's much less accurate, so you could always do one targeted ad and one broad ad to catch those who aren't updating their social as often. - C

I had a lil question... for the "location" part of the ad. ....when I look at my insights page on where my followers are at in the world and if I wanted to put my attention on a certain location like say Vancouver, would I tap Van into that location space? I disagree a little bit. If you do want quick and fast engagement (less relevant,yes - but WAAY cheaper), using the little 'promote' button on Instagram is more efficient than Facebook Ads Manager. Plus, on Facebook Ads Manager you don't get the CTA button of 'visit profile'

That promote button isn't an engagement objective though.

@@Highseasoncoyes that's true, it isn't a campaign objective. however, most often, the cost per engagement tends to be lower and the CPMs too, using the 'promote' button vs. the 'engagement' objective - no matter how hard a Facebook account manager will try and sell you :) I perfectly agree with what you say that the Facebook Ads Manager does have much more capabilities to allow a relevant audience to target, but, that little blue button isn't all that bad in its way, that's all I wanted to add.
