Very much enjoy your videos and your experience. Thank you for making them. I would like to make a suggestion for geese egg incubation. It is important to make the distinction between cooling and misting temperatures. Misting with water that is slightly warmer than the egg temperature (104゚) Cooler mist constricts shell pores lowering absorption. Warmer mist helps hatch rate. Larger eggs with forced air of a fan dry out and lower the descending egg weight. Larger eggs need more incubation time, the extra humidity helps maintain proper egg weight. Hope this helps.

Hi Kathy, thanks for your comment! 99.5F for temp, 100 if fine as well. Humidity around 50, and turning 3 times a day from day 2 til day 25. Cooling + misting starts day 5 til day 25. I use room temperature water, but I've heard warm works better, haven't noticed any issue with room temp water though. On day 25 stop rotating, day 27 increase humidity to 70+. It can take a few days for them to hatch. 48 hours is average. Hope this helps!

Love this video, this is the first video I've watched regarding hatching Goose eggs. I just picked up 5 mixed breed goose eggs yesterday so I'm trying to prepare for what I need to do before I do it. Did you spray the eggs starting on day 13, and was it an every day thing you did? I'm pretty sure you said that in the video but I just want to confirm. Definitely makes sense since geese love water and have thise thick downs. You would think the mama would come back all wet to continue incubating her eggs. Very cool stuff, thank you for your video!

I have an egg that ive rotated q4h with temp around 100 and humidity has stayed around 60-80. I mist regularly to keep the humidity up since its a diy incubator from a styrofoam cooler. But i dont feel like i can do a lockdown with it because the internal temp will rise dramatically if its not opened every few hours (heatsource is a lighbulb). What can i do? Im on day 29

If that is an accurate temp then babies have likely passed. They are sensitive to too hot and won't make it past 102F.

hey..today was the 32nd day of our eggs. one of them was chirping and moving, but didnt come out. i waited 24 hours and i was worried if it will die inside. i hatched the egg. now it is lying inside the egg. it looks like it wasnt ready. i really regret that i hatched it. what can i do to keep it alive? Should i give it some water or food while still inside? also, there is some blood, which shows it wasnt ready. I thought it was okay after 32 days.. I'd appreciate any advice.

Some breeds can take up to day 35. There really isn't much that can be done. Baby needs to remain in the incubator for a day or two before removing and giving food/water

So I have 2 eggs myself; have them on eco earth and moss at humidity of 50% on a heading reptile pad that keeps them at 88-90 degrees. Idk if I’m doing anything wrong but the candle check I haven’t done at all nor the rotating of the eggs. I’m start doing rhay now. Had them since April 2 second I believe and haven’t seen any much development when I put a light to them today wirh a flashlight. I’m thinking they’re i’m fertile because I did not receive the eggs from my egg breeder( got them from my brother who found them or received them from someone else).
@farmerjohomesteading Жыл бұрын
Hi! Unfortunately 88-90F is not warm enough at all. By this stage the egg will be full of veins if it is developing. Even a weak flashlight you would see a lot of veins. Due to unknown origin, it is very possible that they aren't fertile, but if it's not warm enough they also just won't develop
