I've been at 3/4 for months now, I used the taping method, however in the past I wasn't smart and stretched up sizes with silicone tunnels which I'm suspicious is why my ears are so fragile now. My ears get red really easily, they itch every now and then, and they get irritated a lot. I clean them about twice a week and massage them with jojoba oil. I have no clue why my ears are so sensitive and why they do what they do. If you or anyone has any ideas of why I would love your input.

I've been a double 0 for a year now and I've bought a gorgeous pair or teardrop plugs and double flare plugs but they just won't go in I think I have a lot of scar tissue though it sucks

David L. 1. You should have been taping the whole way down from 16ga and taking your time. You wouldn't have any scar tissue to begin with. 2. Tape. If you don't have enough 'give' to insert a double flared plug, take out your single-flared plug, wrap some Teflon tape around it 1-2 times, put it back in and wait a few weeks.

Massage your ears with vitamin E oil every day to make them healthier and bring some blood back into them to make the lobes thicker and give you some play

I strongly advise you not to, I suggest massaging with oils until it's gone, using a tiny bit of tea tree oil on a Q tip and pressing it on the tissue every time I clean my ears really helps

I got a question why are my lobes so thick. I can only use double flared cuz reg guages make my lobes funky cuz I have so much left over lobe over the plug or tunnel n it creates irritation. Been thr same size for awhile now its just very irritating an then I also can't sleep with nothing in or else my lobes close up. Thy shouldn't close so easily or shrink I mean

@@kylynnemiller2060 I ended up buying regular plugs, letting my ears heal, then I actually had to size up a whole other size before the double flared ones would fit comfortably. Though, my ears do NOT stretch well so if yours are a bit more flexible you may be able to just get normal plugs to let your ears heal correctly, then try the flared ones :)

Keep pulling on your plugs until it feels like you're stretching the hole for a couple days then take a shower as hot as you can take it and let the water run over your lobes before getting out and then follow the instructions in the video and you should be good. Also spread your lobe out as best you can when inserting the first end

Or use ear weights! Stone or metalworks. DONT make weights, they are measured precisely, and you don't want it to be too heavy or too light. And don't wear them constantly, look up the wait time for your size. Hope this helps! 👌

Give it a bit longer. My ears take 6- 8 weeks to be stretchy again. To stretch mine, I had to get spiral tapers, put them in as far as I could, wait 2 weeks so I could put them in all the way and get up to size, then wait another 6- 8 weeks to go to the next size. It is actually much safer and much healthier to wait awhile between stretches and to wait a bit before doing double flare plugs.

Phoenix Greer That's because double flared plugs aren't stretching tools. Wait about 2 more months and your ears should be healed. Next time try the taping method or steel tapers, whatever you prefer. But don't use tapers after 00g, use the taping method after 00g if you want to keep stretching your ears. I recommend using bondage tape over PTFE/teflon tape though.
