Mine isn’t working. I can’t even search for filters. I also came across a post that says if you live in the state of Illinois or Texas they banned filters. CRAZY.

These users get the error message (This effect is not available in your location) whenever they try using the Instagram Filters for a reason. Because of the facial recognition law in the two states, Meta was compelled to disable the Instagram filters.

😢 I don’t see any story effects at all. I offloaded, uninstalled, restarted phone, updated phone. Nothing, nada. I’m so sad I use effects all the time and last Saturday it decided to stop

I figured it out! I tried all of this and it didn’t work. I have another Instagram account and I logged in, clicked stories, saw all effects pop up, used an effect, didn’t post it. When I switched back to my personal account, boom they all magically appeared again.

I tried everything but nothing worked. Tried Offloading , deleting app. Also tried adding different account but no luck. After that I uninstalled all apps related to Instagram like layout and Hyperlapse and boom it worked. I think all Instagram apps share same local directory for data storage.

This didn't work for me for a filter I saved. I live in the US and it is available for others. - I performed the offload, still not available. - I had a friend re-send me the filter. When I "try it" the filter doesn't apply - I tried un-saving the filter and resaving to no prevail - My memory is at 77 of 128

Try uninstalling and reinstalling then turn location off for Instagram. I don’t know why mines doing this and I’m in Florida

You can always search for the specific filter name. Keep in mind, not all stories are available for everyone depending on what country they're in. Some filters are country specific so if you see a filter someone else used and they're in another country it could be unavailable to you.

Today I got a random message on ig and click anything, then I delete all my filters and it only let me use ig original filters and when I try to use other people filters it don’t let me cause it said that is not available in my location 🙃

I think there’s a fix on ig in settings you wanna go to privacy and scroll all the way down until you see face and hand effects and turn that on
