How to Install a Barlock on Your Sure-Trac Enclosed Trailer

In this video we go over the steps to install a Barlock on the door of a Sure-Trac enclosed trailer.

What size is the tamper proof torx? I tried a t40 but its not big enough??

this is pretty confusing. The tamper proof screws 3/8 x 1” are pretty hard to find in a course thread. You call them bolts in the video, but I don't see a fine thread bold holding very well. Can you help us out here? I think a lot of people (like me) bought the hinge and are struggling with this part. Is there a reason you don't just put a bolt through the wall like you do with the door? Thank you!!!

We don’t put a bolt through the wall because it isn’t needed with our method of installation. If you want to install the barlock, it shouldn't be a problem. You could probably just drill all the way through the wall stud, and interior wall covering, and use a bolt that is long enough to go all the way. I’d use a washer and locknut on the inside.

There "method" isn't great, there's barely a 1/8" of threads holding the security bolts.... be careful tightening or you will strip them!

We have bought 2 Sure-Trac trailer and they're very expensive. Getting parts for them takes way to long. We've been waiting 3 months for a replacement axle ordered from one of their dealers. They don't carry anything... everything has to be ordered by the dealer from Sure-Trac, for us... this has been a very slow process. The "Find a Dealer Link" seems fine for buying a trailer, but many shops like ours are quite capable a repairing our equipment... if the dealer stocked parts or could get them in a reasonable amount of time... fine, otherwise it would be nice to get them directly from the OEM, I think they must make them as they build them and have no stock of parts??? UPDATE: After contacting Joe we're getting our axle Monday. Great support at corporate!

@@SureTracTrailersPage Here is the dealer in our area which is St. Louis, Mo. Mid America Truck Tops & Trailers, 501 Howerton Ln, Eureka, MO 63025. They are nice enough people but say all they can do is order and wait... we've been having a busy season and it's just been a shame to have that nearly brand-new trailer parked. One of our drivers cut a turn a little close and clipped a fire hydrant with the right front tire and bent the spindle.

Bob, sorry to hear about the accident. A simple mistake like that should not result in loss of the trailer for the season. My first assumption is that perhaps Mid America is / was waiting for a load that these parts could ship on to save the freight. But most of the time, parts can be shipped rather quickly.
