I can’t wait to try it myself. I imagined having to hire a big strong person to dig a two-foot deep hole! You’re a fount of knowledge. Thanks for sharing it.

Love watching the birds in the snow, it really makes them stand out 😊 Love the birdhouse you chose 😁 thanks for tips on digging, I'm only 5'2'' and you showed me that I can do it 😉

I love the birdhouse against the backdrop of the evergreen tree and the birds are already checking out. I wonder which bird will eventually nest there!

She really did, didn't she! I've dug post holes this way too, and she's right, they key is to have sharp blades, and moist soil. Otherwise, it's just a job you'll never want to do twice! But with sharp blades, it makes digging the hole a breeze.

I have never seem this tool either . This information is helpful as I have so many trees and I would need to locate a birdhouse or birdfeeder away from them. The squirrels especially the red ones are like flying acrobats. Also where I live we have to call city services to make sure we don’t dig where undergoing utilities are located . This action goes for planting even shrubs.

Hi dear friends! Just wanted to share one other note about a post hole digger. It does have some weight to it. I'm always careful to carry it with two hands and lift properly. All the weight is at the bottom, so be careful as you carry it. It's not hard, just something to be mindful of when you first pick it and walk around with it. Hugs to you both!

I use the post hole diggers frequently where I live, zone 10a. The problem is we have sugar sand so it’s a real pain. It just flows back down into the hole! Lol. I love that bird house.

Danielle, I am hooked to your videos! You really inspire get out there and do things myself. Your point about making the tool work for us especially given our strength and stature was well-made! I do have a question though - how did you choose the location for your birdhouse?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
Hi there friend! I chose this location because it was near a large holly tree where the birds could seek additional shelter, and because I am able to see this area from our living room window. Hope you a have a great one!

I'm confused. You wanted it to stand at 8 feet but you bought an 8 foot post? What about the length you put in the ground? Dont you have to account for that?
@cynthiafisher99073 жыл бұрын
The only thing I can think is that she means she wanted the top of the birdhouse to be at 8’.
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
Hi I'm sorry. I see now that I should have been more clear on this. I wanted it to be 8 feet including the house. The house is quite tall.

@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens Ok. Thanks for letting me know.

Do you have issues with squirrels trying to knock the birdhouse down to get at the seed? Or is it too firmly planted and screwed on. Haven’t figured out how to knock the riff off yet?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol! We do have squirrels here, but they seem to leave my houses alone. They do help themselves to all our fruit trees though!

Love your channel but am moving to Rumble. I just don't feel comfortable supporting KZbin and big tech censorship - it's anti-American and our government won't do anything to stop it. Wish you the best. Hope to see you on Rumble some day soon! I'll catch you there.
