How To Install A Blow Off Valve/Dump Valve (Sort Of)

Been wanting to do this all my life.
Ive always wanted a car that went 'psssshhhh'.. and now i do haha!
Initially i did just blank off the recirc valve, and the noise was AWESOME.. but since i am running 20 psi i think its time to give the turbine blades a bit of a rest and put a blow off valve on!
The hardest part of putting a blow off valve on is blanking off the recirc valve, due to how fiddly it is, and i already did that in a previous video so today was very easy for me!
I think i still prefer the flutter from before i put the BOV on, but its nice to change it now and again.
This is a Forge blow off valve if anyone was wondering :)

I personally think the PSSSH sound from just the air filter sounds a lot better. A blow off valve sounds a bit less "mean" when you hear it. I think you should just keep the flutter. Great video though, keep em coming!

Remove the sound deadening from under the bonnet will release a little more pshhhhh

That risks damaging the paint on the bonnet because of the heat from the engine.

Did the kit come with a few springs? stiffer and softer? a stiffer spring will make a louder noise as it holds more pressure before venting it. just make sure it isnt too stiff as you dont want it holding too much pressure for too long. my forge bov came with 3 springs red/yellow/blue. but mine was for my 2.3 disi turbo cx-7 maybe yours is different?

Pushing the boost gauge pipe into the t-piece won’t last get a bigger bit of pipe push it into that then onto the t-piece then a couple of zip ties each end.

I bought my 225 with a blow off valve on it, but i want that flutter noise instead! :-) You dont just get that noise by fitting a blanking plate do you? Does the induction kit go towards the flutter? My car still has standard airbox.

If you haven't figured this out, or for anyone interested, there is a vacuum tube just after the throttle body on the left side of the inlet plenum. What I did is cut the tube and add a little valve to open and close the tube. Closing will stop vacuum reaching the boost solenoid by the turbo, stopping the re-circulation valve activating, giving that flutter sound. It's very subtle on the ST225 (different induction kits may vary the volume). This is without any BOV fitted.

Compressor surge and turbo flutter are different things. if you are getting turbo flutter while engine is under load then ur fucked (or will be if you dont do something) if its fluttering when you let off you are sound

When I here the noise PISHHH I don't know if its from either a pug 306 diesel, maybe an ST, VXR etc cause all the kiddies are doing it and I guess pish describes these cars of the lower classes.
