You can get a electronic vacuum that runs off the accelerator,into a diesel style dump valve,it works.

You could drill a very tiny hole to allow the pressure to reset. Thats how i made a manual boost controller for my Eagle Talon back in the day. The hole is small enough that the amount of air that leaks out doesnt matter

So I run a solenoid with a switch under the Accelerator, they say its Useless to have a BOV I’m running 1.5Bar on a TD27 and when the boost runs back into the turbo sometimes it blows pipes and turbo lines. And Damages the Propellor
@GREASEGARAGE Жыл бұрын
Great feed back!! And 22psi is a pretty solid amount, I bet it pulls hard. Depending on the engine design most diesel engines don’t have a butterfly valve in the intake, so the engine is always consuming a volume of air, so you don’t get the amount or pressure surge as a engine with a throttle body or some type of butterfly valve.. ,but as you said you definitely can get a temporary pressure spike due to the turbo providing more compressed air then the engine is consuming. Still many people seem to be in two minds in doing this mod to a diesel! again it’s great to get feed back thank you 🙏

Hey David, hope you had a good Australia day if your in OZ, , We check this on the dyno, and the EGT “exhaust gas temperature “ where down alittle and power went up as the fan was on , you can legit feel a big difference just by placing your hand 🤚 on the intercooler when it is ono VS it being off, great question

What are you using to control the BOV and how did you connect whatever you're using
@GREASEGARAGE2 жыл бұрын
Gday Nigel , liam and myself are going to bring part 2 out in the next month :) , but i’ll tell you anyways, the clutch pedal hits a swing arm on a micro switch when the clutch is being used, we installed inside the vehicle , and I have wired that to a 3port mac valve solenoid(Aka 3port boost control valve ) when the micro switch is activated it opens the solenoid by an electrical current, and the boost line to the back of the Bov then gets switched atmosphere, we tried boost to switch to vacuum, but it works way better going to atmosphere , hope that helps hit the subscribe button to get updates
@nigel77312 жыл бұрын
@@GREASEGARAGE Okay thanks man, I was thinking thinking of running it with the throttle position wire from the accelerator pedal

@GREASEGARAGE2 жыл бұрын
Hey I think I replied to your facebook comment ? A bov AKA blow off Valve doesn't control how much boost a engine makes, it is to control the build up of pressure in the piping from the turbo to the throttle body on a petrol engine, and help prevent back pressure on the turbo, legit on a diesel its mostly for noise
