How to install a Cane Creek ViscoSet on a Bullitt cargo bike

As a body therapist I'm not so much into mechanics, that means I'm super exited about so much spirit of engineering! Ordered my visco set because of Ittai´s and Helgi´s video about the ultimate pinion bike of Ittai! Absolutely love it!!

Stupid question, but what about the lower assembly for ViscoSet. What should I use? Is there ViscoSet lower at all, or should I use one from a different headset?

Does this work with a high powered front hub motor? Meaning this part comes under heavy stress - will it hold its own?

Hi, To be honest I have no clue. I think it will but I don't know anyone who has a Bullitt with this damper and a front hub motor. Maybe this is a question you could ask in the 'Universal Bullitt owners' Facebook group?

You don't HAVE to machine the cone. I modified mine by attaching the cone to a drill and using measurements and marks with a metal file to produce the same result. Not saying that machining isn't a better way, it probably is; all I'm saying is that you CAN diy this solution without specialist tools.

Hi Pascal, I’m not 100% sure but I think that you can use the standard Visco set on the older Bullitts. I’ll check with Ittai and come back to you

Does anyone have a recommended cut length for the steer tube spacer?

Guessing from looking at the size of the ring compared to his finger I would ball park 10 to 15 mm in height.

No wobbling anymore? How fast can you drive now? Sometimes my bullit wobbles when I drive down warts with 40kmh.

Last week I drove in the woods with 55kmh and no wobbling on the trail. But on streets its wobbling. I need the visco set too. Good video. 👍

it's a clever device and it looks like it would survive 3 decades of use, but i still think fully hydraulic steering could be a better solution and it has inherent dampening because of the mass of the oil (video CESKYgDB1IQ) components about the same price as this and could even fully enclose it to have a bullittproof setup
