For anyone struggling to get the tube out from the hot end side - do preheat the nozzle (forget the bed) to 200+ so that way the heat will expand and allow a simple release

The Capricorn kit I got comes with a cutter - you just rest the tube in the divot in the cutter, let the blade touch the tube, then rotate it to get a clean cut without compressing the cut end.

You can also print a cutter from thingiverse and use a razor

I am A maker and I have come up with a new Bowden tube fitting to replace the push to connect fittings and would like to have you try them out. they can be found on Capricorn tube web site. they are called lemonade fittings. We took lemons and made lemonade. Thank you keep up the great work keeping us informed and empowered

When you cut the bowden tube, it is helpful to cut the tube slightly long, then insert a bit of filament into the opening, then make a final cut to length using the nippers.

This was the first thing I installed upon receiving the Ender 3 V2, before I ever started printing.

if you heat the hotend to 260c the tube will release instantly i just spended 30minuts trying to remove it

I was working on removing mine, had to stop since I have to go to an appointment, but that was my plan to heat it up to remove it from the hot end, mine is really stuck. The fitting is screwed off and it is still stuck.

Did you forget to put the clips on that keep the fittings from compressing and releasing the bowden tube? Or do the new fittings not require the clips?
@Dactylonian11 ай бұрын
Awesome instructional video. Can you link or tell the manufacturer and model of the fittings for both ends of the new tube.
My Ender has already been upgraded to the Capricorn Bowden tube but is clogged. I hope when I replace it it is as easy as you show it.

This is not how you're supposed to cut the bowden tube non-metal hotend. You need a clean cut perfectly at 90 degrees. Use a utility knife with a printed gutting guide or a filament cutter. This is a critical piece where any gap between the tubing and the nozzle will cause a clog. So make sure you do it properly.

it doesent make sence to mount a precision tube and then cutting it with that stupid plyer/ You just ruined it ;-)

Definitely print a cutting jig from thingiverse and use a razor blade

I thought you are supposed to back the bowden coupler off a half turn on the hot end side... put the tube in and then seat the coupler... thus ensuring a tight fit and no leaking around the nozzle.

Does the Bowden Tube need to be pushed all the way into the print side? Or does it need to be far away from it? I noticed my print head heater whatever you call it is totally caked in old filament it kept getting stopped up. I trimmed that piece out and replaced and it happened again. I’m wondering if I should push the tube all the way in or give it to Space? Probably all the way in, but that’s why I’m asking.

Did you find out? That also why i came to this video i noticed when i removed the original teflon tube it only came out like .5 in and if i push the new capricorn tube it seems to go in really deep if i go all the way in

in the step around 3:00 do you turn the temperature on while you try to get it out? I wasn't sure as I don't know if I should be trying to pry things out of that thing while it's on

I have the same printer. I use “free” AutoCad Fusion 360 then export svg file to UltaCura (sp?) to make the g code that the printer uses. Is there a better way if you need to keep costs low?
@the3dprintzone2 жыл бұрын
Hi Harrison, thanks for the question! I use Cura to slice my STL files to GCODE. It’s probably the most popular slicer softwares out there and is completely free. Not sure if that answers your question, but hope it helps! Like and subscribe and happy printing!
