Did you use cement and gravel for the fence posts? I noticed you didn't take out all the posts that were not the edge posts. Why did you just cut the posts that were inside?

Is there a difference in quality of cedar fence pickets from Big Box stores vs. a fence supply company? Straitness? Thickness? Thanks

Now what if I have a small normal metal fence but want to put a wooden one, do I still have to measure for the holes ?

Hello Need help please. First time ever doing a fence. From the back of my house to my garage. It is not on the lot like so how do I make sure the fence is straight? Any help would be appreciated.

Awsome video! I'm curious, am I supposed to get permission from the HMO and utility companies to make sure I set up a fence or..do I just get cracken?
@BuettsFence9 жыл бұрын
If you know where your property pins are all you need is a simple city permit which is about $25

I have a 37ft long fence how many feet do I need to put my posts and how many pickets well I need? Another thing is how many bags does it take to fill in one post? Thankyou
@Fit4MeHealthCoaching9 жыл бұрын
All MERRICA divide you length of fencing by 8 and that would give you your number of post. 16 pickers per 8 ft
@HerrMahnMahRez8 жыл бұрын
depends in the picket size. 6 inch is about 16 18 and 8 inch is about 12 13.

For shorter fences, holes 18" deep are more than deep enough. Don't exhaust yourself digging more than you need to. In this case because the fence is so long 24" is far more stable especially where the concrete is in soft dirt.
@iloveamberist9 жыл бұрын
In my area we set our posts 3' deep for stability and ground cracking. Chain link posts are 10' centers or less and wood posts are 7' centers or less. Blair Fence Co.

Recommend that gate be wide enough to get a truck through so you have access when needed.

Good but........ If you make the hole 4 foot deep and not use concrete your fence post will last twice as long. Put a foot of loose crushed rock and gravel at the bottom of the hole and have three feet of post in the ground for a post that is six foot above ground.

I just end up doing more post so between 6' and 7'. Cost more but stronger fence

To al the idiots who say oh just dig a little deeper. That is how you might do it if you are a homeowner with all the time in the world to spare and are doing it yourself. When you run a business you can cut corners and still have the highest quality of fencing or whatever your trade may be good job guys and don't worry about the lames that have never touched a shovel or any other tool for more than 30 min at a time.
@cmf7111 жыл бұрын
but some people are to lazy to dig that little extra more

Use a Sawzall, please, not a chainsaw, to remove sections. Chainsaws do not like nails. The Sawzall eats nails for lunch, breakfast, even as a snack. Pre-soak the posts and get them out of the ground. Leaving concrete and post remnants behind is not cool.
