In this video I incorrectly said that the oil pressure sensor goes in pin 4. It actually goes in pin 5. Sorry for the mistake.

The Deutsch tool you show is a high production model. Many other crimpers are on the market. For example, an "iCrimp, IWC-1424AN" can be purchased for 18$. It does require 2 crimps per pin. No Need to spend 300$. Hope this helps others

Liked the video. Will this work on any Diesel engine? I have two 175hp Hino engines and most of my tach gauges don't work and I am wanting to incorporate it with a garmin MFD running on NEMA 2000. Can you show how you hooked it up at the engine. Thanks

Glad you enjoyed the video! As far as I am aware it will work on any engine. You just have to calibrate it to your engine (I will be posting videos on how to do that soon). I will take a pic in the morning of where I hooked it up to the engine and post it here for you.

I took a picture but can’t figure out how to put it in a comment - sorry 😢 But it is just a single wire attached to the tach pick up terminal on my alternator. I imagine it would be different for different boats and engine configurations. You would just take the wire that runs to your current analog tachometer and connect it to the Chetco instead. If you would like more info - feel free to DM me and I would be happy to help in anyway I can.

@@CruisingThisOldBoat You could make a 1 or 2 minute video that travels to the location of the plug and then show the photo for 5 or 10 seconds, explaining where it is and what is involved in getting to the connection point. Even though we might not have that part, some of us like to see where and how to fix things. ( Just a thought of an opportunity for another video. )
