well, I always recommend GROHE I'm a licensed master PLUMBER in New York City and I hate the instructions that come with anything you buy from grohe thankfully this is the first time I seen a nice KZbin video explaining everything about the install . I’m about to install this exact trim/shower valve.

The front plate and smart box need siliconing on, right?

Hello @gerg83! Thank you for your message and your interest in GROHE. When purchasing our products, please always refer to our enclosed assembly instructions. Everything is described there. And regarding your question: the answer is yes, the edge around the SmartBox (between the SmartBox and the tile) is sealed with silicone. Greetings from the GROHE Social Team

@@GROHE cheers, the manual and video make no reference to gluing the front trim on, but there is nothing to hold it in place (so I assume it must be siliconed)

Are the knobs and escutcheon plate made of plastic?

This product does not work as advertised. The flow control of each valve does almost nothing to affect water flow. Waste of money.
