hi, if you don't want to install tasksel, if you just want a ubuntu desktop by running "sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop" and skip the tasksel installation. I might upload a cleaner vid later. thanks.

thank you for this helpful video. I had an issue when attempting vncserver -localhost no I got an error, and the vncserver session did not start. running vncserver no error bit I could not connect with TigerVNC Viewer: connection refused. I fixed this by editing /etc/tigervnc/vncserver-config-mandatory adding: $localhost = "no" Now I can connect :) Note if you are on MacOS you can install TigerVNC Viewer with Brew: brew install --cask tigervnc-viewer

Do you really need bot VNC server and XRDP? They seem to provide a very similar functionality...

Thank you! My first ubuntu server and gui =) But wdo i have to run "vncserver -localhost no" everytime i want to start gui or do i only need to connect with remote desktop? And who do i not see the script or files in downloads for example in the gui? it is empty :P Thanks again!

You don’t have to run vncserver if you using remotes desktop. If the zip file is empty you have to check with the site admin. Thanks

basically i clicked lxqt i think it is instead of gnome

you can still change the enviroment isntall. but run sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop to desk the regular desktop
