If you're using the comp stage 1 cam 218/228 can you shave down the limiter? I think there's a lot of piston to valve clearance as is

Welp… I should’ve watched 5 more seconds on how to put the tool in to lock the spring… two loud pops have confirmed that I will need to spend more money

Yeah, if you don't place the long bolt you pull out back in the same place, which is what the tool is meant to hold, then it's burnt. It's kind of a no brainer but nowhere does the procedure mention that one of the bolts you pull is longer, so you don't watch for it. If it's hard to pull out the tool don't pull it out unless you wanna buy a new phaser 😆 Right there with you man.
