Do you have a video on a pyramid cap for a gazebo where all 4 points meet up.

Place panel overlapping hip, snap chalk line up hip, cut on chalk line. easy.

What's the best tool to cut them in place? An air nibbler, shears, or a cutting disc? Thanks!

How to keep the ridge cap and hip cap edge from scratching the roof panel?

Or just put your panel up and mark your cuts on each side and use a straight edge to join those marks. Or just use a chalk line depending on how long your cut is.

I'm a little unclear on the 17.5 inch mark on the ruler. You mark the square and place it to the inside of the male piece but measure from the outside edge to make the piece. Wouldn't that be half inch off the measurement? If I had it in front of me I'm sure it would make sense.

You are correct, he should have put that ruler square on the far side of that ridge, but he put it on the near side. But I assume because the overlap on these sheets is so minuscule it hardly affects the measurements. However if we were using panels that use much more overlap (like corrugated sheets which have 2 and a half overlaps of the corrugations) then that square he used to start the measurement would have to be back at the start of the where the overlap is going to be, not at the edge of the last sheet. or easier to know the exact overlap width and to deduct it from the measurement, then place the square at the end of the last sheet.

Too much math. I guess some folks don't mind it. Just place your panel like you normally would, snap a chalk line over the panel over the hip line. Cut back half an inch from the chalk line for better workmanship. What is the mystery?

Show us a rake edge meeting the top of the hip. Can't find that video anywhere.
